We know not just how she advertised herself,to seduce weak males to part with a little of their hard earned wealth,She was one of the scum of the whole earth,But changed completely when she found even she had worth,She was a prostitute you see,yes a harlot bold,But repented to develop a heart that was pure gold,The seamy life she knew well, the sinful sordid scene,Her name you ask? Yes Mary Mary Magdalene,Something now troubled her, touched her heart deep downShe recognised her lifestyle would surely make God frown,What was it that so touched her sad & wicked heart,Causing it from the life of sin so quickly to depart,The power & love of the Jewish messiah,Just lifted her spirits higher & higher,We know not if she saw the 5000 miraculously fed ,When Christ multiplied the lunch,2 fish ,5 loaves of bread,But surely she knew that Christ had raised the dead,Touched & cleansed the filthy leper, gave sight unto the blind,Proving that the heart of God is so wonderfully kind,This touched poor Mary's heart so powerfully within,She turned from all her wickedness, repented of her sin,So when she heard her loving saviour then was having tea,At the house of Simon the haughty pharisee ,She plucked up courage,& she overcame her fears,Knelt & washed the saviours feet with repentant tears,Then tenderly & humbly while still kneeling thereWiped them almost dry with her long flowing hair,Simon thought it really dim,he would even let her close to him,&in his heart he criticised the creator of earth & sea & skies,Christ of course knowing his proud thoughts,Challenged him in heavens courts,You asked me here to dine,You said 'come in please,Yet offered not the common eastern courtesies ,This woman of the world is now surely going to heaven,Her sin & wickedness now truly all forgiven,But as for you good sir,I know just so well,Your pride & arrogance will take you down to hell,So Simon my best advice to you would be,Turn from all selfrighteousness,Just humbly trust in me,Our master shared the lesson for all the world to see,That those who humble themselves will exalted be,Those who exalt themselves will also be abased,As Lucifer was thrown from heaven,& lost that glorious place,HE HAD TOLD HIS FOLLOWERS CLEAR & PLAIN,Emphasising it time & yet again,That he would rise from the dark grave,& as shepherd go forth to seek & save,Unworthy sinners condemned & lost, that he died for at such awful cost,But on the very first day of the week, when the ladies came his body to seek,With spices to lovingly embalm, their dear Lords body as they sang a psalm,The heavy stone was rolled back that day,The body gone,'Who took it away?'The others all ran to tell the men,But Mary wept bitterly once again,She thought she heard the gardeners voice,& said 'Dear sir please give me the choice,To bring my dear Lords body back',That around it spices we may pack,But Mary's joy was then complete, she heard her name & knelt at Jesus feet,In fact her heart to heaven soared,My soul now magnifies the Lord,Thus the one who took so many men sinfully into bed,Was the first to see the saviour when he rose up from the dead,Is there a lesson we can learn from this touching story?,That we might experience more of Gods grace & glory,Its not so much your sinful past that matters, your reputation in the gutter lying all in tatters,But that you trust the saviour day after trying day,& like Enoch learn to walk with God *& to watch & pray,Then to prove your love for God you see,You must love not only friends but also enemy,Then when this life of trials finally ends,& you say goodbye to all earthly friends,You will live forever in peace & joy untold,Walking with our saviour the streets all paved with gold.
