The 2016 presidential election had far greater consequences for the United States and the world than prior cycles going back decades. Politics is changing, parties are re-aligning, and a new reality is settling in. 2020 may well cement the great shift in American politics for at least a generation.
What once drove German aggression may now drive Germany again. This time using the outlet of diplomacy, but still ending up in the same place: German domination of Europe, economically and militarily. Will it work?
