Tai is a black belt in the Shotokan style of karate and uses Yoga to keep flexible. She has many neat tips to share on how anyone can use Yoga and tips from martial artists on how to live a more healthy, safe and productive life.
"I am passionate about self improvement and always striving to be the best I can be. I've found that training in karate added so much to my life in all areas. I was certainly not a fanatical fitness person, and before I joined my karate dojo, the most exercise I did was walking from the house to the car. I am still not fond of running and avoid it at all costs except when in a training session; but I do try hard to keep to my training schedule now.
"I've found Yoga to be a great way to get fit that is not strenuous, I can't say the same about karate. It is very strenuous and for a person who couldn't do aerobics because I couldn't follow the instructor, I am amazed at what I've acomplished with karate. It took a lot of time and several years to gain my black belt but it was so worth it.
