Hello and welcome. My name is Yuwanda Black and I’m a freelance writer, author and web entrepreneur. My primary niche is SEO writing. In addition to SEO writing, my firm also provides a range of other writing services — from press releases, to sales letters, to newsletter copy.
New Media Words is my SEO writing Firm (NewMediaWords.biz).
I also publish and write practically all of the material for InkwellEditorial.com, a leading site on the web for information on how to start, grow or maintain a freelance writing business. I also blog regularly at SeoWritingJobs.com, a site devoted to the topic of freelance SEO writing.
Inkwell Editorial Publishing
This company was started in October 2014 to publish my fiction works -- romance, erotice romance and crime. We're always seeking good writers in these genres. Learn more in the "Write for Us" section on InkwellEditorialPublishing.com.
I have published over 50 e-books on freelance writing and small business; and almost 30 fiction novellas (mostly romance).
I also developed and teach three online e-courses: (i) on freelance writing; (ii) one on how to write SEO content; and (iii) the other on self-publishing -- specifically how to independently publish an ebook for $0.
My Professional Background/Credentials
I have been in publishing since 1987. I owned/operated Inkwell Editorial, an editorial staffing and recruiting agency in New York City from 1996-2004. I repositioned the business as an online information portal for editorial and creative professionals (primarily freelance writers) in December 2004.
In 2000, I developed and co-taught a Chicago-style copyediting course, which was attended by individuals and Fortune 500 executives alike. I also created and taught a web development and marketing course at Borough of Manhattan Community College in New York City (2001).
A long-time, serial entrepreneur, I have been featured in numerous magazines, newspapers and online outlets, among them: Entrepreneur.com’s small business magazine Be Your Own Boss; The Wall Street Journal’s RealEstateJournal.com; the noted online business journal GreaterDiversity.com; and the highly popular work-from-home site PowerHomeBiz.com.
I have an AA in English, a BA in Sociology and completed one year of course study towards an MA in Criminal Justice at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City. I have been a freelance writer since 1993; a self-syndicated small business columnist; and a small business/entrepreneurial advisor.
