My real name is Jeremy M. Kirkpatrick, I'm a 25 year old male from Warren, Ohio. It's not a huge town, but it's big for the area. My interest in writing stems from the 8th grade actually. My teacher was offering extra credit for anyone willing to write a poem for a contest that was going on online. I was always one to jump at the chance of extra credit, it was free points to me, and I could never pass it up. I spent clueless weeks trying to think of a poem to write when a muse hit me after weeing a girl cry in the hallway. I wrote a very short, but decent poem entitled "All You Had To Do Was Cry". I didn't win, but I did do good enough to get my poem published in a book, which I bought a copy of. After that, I started drawing inspiration from all over the place, and I kept writing short poems, (having a few more published after the first). Meanwhile, I was also a pretty big fan of Video Games, I loved having an escape from the real world, and being able to go into another complete universe. Eventually I started thinking about making my own universe, not through Video Games, but through writing. What if I could offer people that same escape, into a completely different fantasy world by writing! I wouldn't be the first to do so of course, but it still fascinated me. I started reading fantasy books, and to this day the one that I loved and felt most inspired and moved by was "The Mistress of Dragons" by Margaret Weis. I hope to have that kind of personal success one day. I also did some writing for the school newspaper in High School, a few articles here and there. As it turned out, I was quite interested in journalistic writing as well, I always kind of wanted a job with the paper, my own column or some such, but never did much to follow up on it. I do however have a fantasy book in progress, (very early progress) but I can't seem to catch the muse for it like I did in the past. This is partially due to the fact that my original inspiration for part of the book has been cut off, so to speak. I still try my best to make progress on it however, but my mind is very fickle and erratic, which brings me to Hubpages. I'm on Hubpages now because I have quite a lot on my mind at any given point in time. I am what I would call an over-analyzer. I think about any subject that pops into my head, and I will just sit and consider any number of possibilities in regards to whatever floats through my head. Fortunately, this does give me complete subjectiveness in most subjects. An ability I find extremely undervalued and underappreciated in this Country, as the media is more interested in ratings and drama than providing people with unbiased news as they are supposed to. Back on topic; I look at a whole range of subjects, and I come up with the utmost logical, and sensical conclusions to make up my personal beliefs, and since the world at large is neither logical or sensical, it fills my mind with a million things that I want to shout at the same time. This doesn't leave much room to think up ideas for my book, so I thought coming here on hubpages and venting some of the smaller ideas might free up some room in my head, and get my points across to an audience at the same time. Ultimately, I aspire to make a name for myself through my writing. I would absolutely love to be the next J.K. Rowling or J.R.R. Tolkien, and since this is really my only true passion and talent, I hope to one day make a comfortable living with my writing. I don't need it all, but enough to support a family and spoil any future children would be perfect. Any other questions, I'd be more than willing to answer.
