I am a mother to 6 kids and I have an awesome husband. I like to do crafts, sew, crochet, write poems and blogs, I like to do puzzles and play computer games. I work part time at an emergency shelter for abused children. I have a great family who loves to get together for any occasion.
Life is always crazy, but it keeps me on my toes.
I began writing when I was six years old. I remember writing a poem called "Partying". It was about how my parents were always drunk. I would wake up to see strangers passed out on my living room floor. They would stay up late with the music really loud. I didn't know that this was not the norm. I thought all parents did that. I think I may even have that poem somewhere.
When I was 12 I began saving every single journal entry and poem that I wrote. I have two boxes full of spirals. I have started to type them up and hopefully will publish a book containing the joural entries and poems I wrote while I was struggling as a teenager.
I didn't take journalism. I didn't ever feel like I needed schooling on writing. It was something that came natural and I felt that I would write the way I wanted to. I did take Creative Writing in highschool, but I from what I can recal I was put into an English class as the only student taking Creative Writing. While the rest of the class learned about Bronte and Hemmingway, I was able to write whatever I wanted as long as I turned something in by the end of class. I had already had my share of learning authors and their works in my own English class.
I also worked at a newspaper for four years. I didn't write my own columns, but I did write the obituaries, birth and wedding announcments. There I learned a little bit more about the do's and don'ts about writing professionally, although there is only so much you can do with an obituary.
I am a big poetry buff. I love to write it and read it. I used to carry a pen and notebook with me everywhere I went just incase something happened that sparked words for me to jot down. In my boxes of spirals there is also tons of scraps of paper, napkins, wrappers and anything else you can think of that you can write on that has little verses and phrases scribbled on them.
As I have gotten older I go through spells of not writing or writing a lot. I remember a time when I couldnt write at all. I had been so angry as a teenager that all I could write were angry poems. It took me a while to learn how to write about happy, positive things. Once I picked it up and discovered that being in love is just as inspiring as hating the world, I went on a frenzy of love poems. Now I can do either type and usually I don't even have to be feeling that emotion at all. I can come up with a poem and create feelings that I am not feeling at the time.
I also love to blog. Once upon a time when Myspace was big I blogged for about 3 years almost daily. I pretty much told my whole life through myspace blogs. I had friends on there that would comment and give me advise and it made me feel great to open the website and see that someone was reading all my ranting and raving. When I met my husband I didn't really blog so much anymore. I think I was just so consumed with him that I didn't have anything to bitch about in a blog.
After about a year of us dating he told me that he got bored at work and went through my myspace blog and read every single blog i had posted since 2005. I was a little embarassed but I realized that I put these blogs on the internet for them to be read. Some of them were rantings about my ex boyfriend, some about my family, some about work and others just poems and other nonsence. Needless to say despite all the honesty and truth he read about me he still asked me to marry him.
I have started several blogs on blogspot as well, but I no longer blog there anymore. I had one blog where only my husband was able to read it and no one else. I had other blogs that I just lost interest in.
I am hoping that HUB Pages provides me with a great place to write. I want to feel comforable and liked here. I am looking forward to hearing from other Hubbers and to get some good feedback.
So as I said earlier, I don't have any experience with writing correctly. I am not a professional writer. I just love to write. I like to express myself, whether people read my stuff or not, whether they like it or not, I will continue to write, because I love to write.
