...Because I Simply Love Cats

This is Twiggy, my 4 legged furry child :)

Some find cats weird, evil, alien like, creepy, disturbing, or just plain odd. I personally find them, none of thee above!

Cats to me, are very spiritual creatures. They can see and sense things most humans cannot. They have a mysterious energy of knowing everything and fearing nothing. They are a very unique creature, in that there is no other animal like them. They have the power to melt our hearts with joy when they are babies. They can simply stair into our eyes and we somehow know what they want. They show no emotional expression yet we know when they feel loved, when they are hurt, when they simply need a little scratch behind the ear.

I love when they purr. Did you know purring is not only good for them but good for humans as well? The sound of a purr instantly relaxing ones mind and bring peace. Their purr is powerful enough to even mask the pain a human body can feel! Pretty amazing huh?

Many people look down on cat lovers. Unlike dogs, cats don't show emotional attachment and needs. They make us, humans, love and adore them before they give us any sign of love back. I've heard from many people, because a cat love has to love without expecting love being shown in return, this makes them a weak person. Where are dog lovers are superior to cat lovers. I love dogs for many reasons, as I love all animals, but cats are different. Cats bring my spirit something other animals cannot bring. I can't explain what it is or why they do it.

When a cat shows their love, it is unconditional. They don't love us simply because they are beneath us, they love us because they walk beside us. The Egyptians worshiped these creatures and for that reason many feel they are cursed. Do you know why they worshiped these creatures? Because unlike any other animals, cats have a strong spiritual energy to them. As I said before, they can see and sense things our human eyes and body's can't. When you gaze into a cats eyes, you feel that they don't feel below us. They feel like they are apart of us, on our side, on our level.

I don't worship cats by any means, I simply love and adore them. I am thankful God created such a marvelous creature in both large and quite small sizes. You will notice, if you have cats, they can be spontaneous, off the wall, overwhelmed with joy for small periods at a time, the same way we can. They get those adrenaline rushes of pure joy and just explode like a child at an amusement park. Most of the time it is from simply feeling loved.

Some people say I am crazy for how I feel about animals and how the love I have for them is a curse. To me, to feel such love for another creature is a blessing.

People will ask me "Why are cats my favorite animal in all of the world?" and I simply reply...

Because I simply love cats.

      Thanks for the comment SamboRambo!

From what I've read, cats, like small children, have the ability to see the spiritual ways of life. They both see spirits, demons, angels and so on WAY more then adult humans or any other animals. God spoke in the bible that He wants His people to come as children. When you think about it, children have such loving and non-judging hearts and their faith is the size of a mountain. I think this is one reason God wants His children, to be just that, children! We can also learn a great deal from cats... They have this spirit unlike any other animal and I can't describe it, but if you love cats, you can almost feel their spirit in your heart. I will read your hub soon, sounds funny and interesting :)

Sometimes, when my cat looked at me, she looked at a spot six or eight inches to my left. Was she seeing my aura, or my spirit?

I've had unique experiences with cats. I wrote one hub that describes how two cats fought over me.

Teylina - Thanks! I do like to think I understand cats a lot. I worked as a vet assistant and the most feral of cats seemed to trust me because I didn't come to them as they were objects but living creatures. I assured them, in that scary place, that if anyone may hurt them, it wont be me :) The cat me and my fiance took in, that now his his mother's was a stray but he fell in love with me. He was living on my mother's porch. The one day I went there and I was leaving, he actually chased down the car and I almost cried. He didn't want to be alone anymore. A week later, he got a horrible bite on his neck. My mom took him into the vets, got him stitched up and neutered. And me and my fiance took him in until he heeled and we found him a home. We live in a double home with my fiance's mom and her boyfriend and she fell for him. So as of now, I see him every day and he even sleeps with me in the bed like a child, under the blanket and everything. I am going to miss him when we move but I know he will be happy to have a home and someone who loves him.

Eric - Yay! I wish more people did :) Thanks!

chamilj: think most cat lovers understand, and many people who enjoy cats are allergic, too. Those like you don't make us mad; we know, however, that the cats know you better than we do! They personally take offense at being just "beautiful" or "cute," etc. So, beware, my friend, lest one decide to take you on as a project! 113RITLLES, think you speak for cat lovers everywhere; of course, most of us love other animals, we've just learned to appreciate cats for what they are.

Minnetonka Twin - Your roommate's cat probably bonded with you. Cats usually only securely bond with one human. That one human is blessed because they not only earned their love and affection, but their trust. I grew up with dogs as well but when I was 9 a cat wondered up on my porch and I fell in love with him. After a month of begging and pleading my mom let me keep him. The whole family loved him dearly and he fit right in with the dogs. I had lost my German shepherd 3 years before this. I was so attached to her I cried myself to sleep for days. Really, up until Taco, my first cat, came into my life, the loss of Sabrina (the shepherd) had me depressed. My mother and father had to put her to sleep not even at 2 years of age because she was having epileptic seizures badly. Her mother got hit by a car while she was pregnant but the breeders didn't tell us. The whole litter, including the mother, got put down with in 3 years the birth of the pups. It was very sad. Taco ended up passing away when I was 19. He was 11 years old. It broke my hearts and still makes me cry. I felt it happend for a reason because a month later, Twiggy popped in my life and he needed help. He needed to be bottle fed for 2 months and when he was one, almost died but thankfully i worked as a vet assistant and he came to work with me every day. I barely slept those two weeks. He had pancrientitus which is deadly in cats. The vet pretty much thought he was a goner. He was having seizures, peeing blood, he wouldn't eat or drink anything. I'm tearing up just remembering how sad it was. I remember I stopped my my moms to get him his favorite blanket and she was at the dinner table crying saying this wasn't fair that such a sweet young kitten has to go through this. I prayed to God like never before. After 14 days, he ate and he drank. In about 2 months, he was himself again. Wow, I typed a lot. I get carried away with animal stories. I don't see how anyone can not like cats, dogs or animals in general. Their gifts from God.

chamilj - No it does not offend me at all! Some people really like cats but feel they are to exotic for their taste. Or they are simply allergic.

Apostle Jack - Yeah I love dogs but ever since my first cat, I always said I needed at least one in my life. When I get a home with my fiance we are going to get 2 dogs. But before that we are going to be living in an apartment for a year or two. So it will just be us and Twiggy. My fiance wants to get a kitten and I do as well. He grew up with a girl cat, so he wants another girl. Her name is Princess and she is going to be 18 this year!

Cats are cute and beautiful but I don't like to have them at my home. Sorry if you don't like to hear this.

Beautiful story about your love and appreciation of cats. I can't understand why some people don't like animals or cats or dogs. I too think cats are really intriguing and spiritual. I grew up with dogs but I have a admiration and fascination with cats from afar. In my twenties, my roommate had a cat. It would sneak in my room all the time and it made my roommate mad. I fell in love with this cat. She simply wanted to get away from my freaky roommate. Smart cat.
