THE THINGS THAT POOR "PETEY" DID FOR THOSE LITTLE RASCALS!!

I WORK FOR TWO LOCAL PHOENIX ANIMAL SHELTERS BY POSTING WEEKLY OR BI-WEEKLY ARTICLES HERE ON HUBPAGES IN ORDER TO HELP FIND HOMES FOR SOME OF THE DOGS AND CATS WHO HAVE BEEN "SHELTERED" JUST A LITTLE TOO LONG AND REALLY, REALLY NEED HOMES NOW!! IT WAS MY GOOD FORTUNE THIS PAST WEEK TO FOSTER A ONE YEAR OLD, FEMALE, PIT MIX NAMED "MAGGIE". I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION, AS MOST OF US ARE, THAT PITS ARE MEAN, AGGRESSIVE AND DOWNRIGHT SCARY. WELL, I AM HERE TO TELL YOU, THAT IS NOT TRUE! I BROUGHT MAGGIE INTO MY PACK, AND INTRODUCED HER TO CHARLIE, MY NINE YEAR OLD GERMAN SHEPARD MIX AND GRACIE, MY SIX YEAR OLD AUSSIE/BORDER COLLIE MIX. UPON THEIR FIRST MEET AND GREET, MAGGIE, GENTLY LAYED DOWN ON THE GROUND, TURNED ON HER SIDE, AND SHOWED THEM SHE WAS TOTALLY SUBMISSIVE. OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS, SHE BASICALLY LICKED THEM TO DEATH. SHE EVEN CAME INTO OUR BEDROOM AT 1:3OAM AND WOKE US UP TO TELL US SHE HAD TO GO OUTSIDE TO "DO HER THING"! ALL SHE WANTED WAS TO BE LOVED, SIT BY US ON THE COUCH AND KISS US ALL OVER THE FACE! SHE WAS SWEETER AND EVEN MORE DOCILE THAN THE DOGS WE HAVE HAD IN THE PAST, GOLDEN RETRIEVERS AND OUR CURRENT DOGS! WOW! THE REASON I FOSTERED HER WAS THAT SHE HAD BEEN AT THE MCACC (MARICOPA COUNTY ANIMAL CARE AND CONTROL) FOR ALMOST ONE MONTH! WHY? THE ONLY REASON THAT I CAN THINK OF WAS THAT SHE LOOKED LIKE A PIT BULL AND HER BREED'S REPUTATION PRECEEDED HER! SHE REMINDED ME OF "PETEY" OF THE LITTLE RASCALS (OUR GANG SERIES) AND SUDDENLY A "RED LIGHT" WENT OFF IN MY BRAIN! PETEY WAS A PITBULL! IMAGINE THAT? IF YOU AREN'T OLD ENOUGH TO REMEMBER WATCHING THE SHOW ON A SMALL BLACK AND WHITE TV, YOU MAY HAVE SEEN IT ON "NICK AT NIGHT"!

SO, THERE YOU HAVE IT. A SMALL GROUP OF IGNORANT "FOLKS" WHO DECIDED TO MAKE THESE BEAUTIFUL, DOCILE DOGS INTO FIGHTERS CHANGED THE WAY PEOPLE FEEL ABOUT AN ENTIRE BREED! THAT IS JUST WRONG! IN MY NEXT ARTICLE, I AM GOING TO INTRODUCE YOU TO APRIL AND I HOPE YOU WILL LOOK AT HER DIFFERENTLY AFTER READING THIS ARTICLE. GOD BLESS THE PITBULLS EVERYWHERE!!

WE are seeking funding for a script by Foster Corder. Foster has written a script called, Conversations With a Pit Bull. Interesting read using live dogs to present real dialogue by the Pit Bulls themselves. Contact: ankhentone@att.net..Thank You

I have just recently rescued a "Peety" who happens to be the love of my life. The most affectionate boy, kind, loving. He does jump and try to nip you but it's just puppy stuff...a good knee with the least emotion solves that. He has become "pack leader" even as the youngest interestingly enough. My boyfriend and Rally got sideways quite a bit in the beginning Now as I predicted, they are best friends.

Thank you! I couldn't agree more! I use to be afraid of them but now I know better and treat them like any other dog. They usally come up to me and start kissing me...They are great dogs!!

i have owned and breed pits for the last 5 years. i hate how the media makes them out to be such vicious dogs. what people dont get is the media labels any dogs that even resembables a pit a pitbull. that is why the are so hated by so many. people think they are naturally human aggressive because they were breed to fight at one point(some people still do). but when they were breed to fight back in the day they was not breed to be human aggressive. if they was human aggressive they was put down. they will always have the drive to be aggressive towards other animal because its in there blood. but u can discourage that by socilizing them with other animals from a young age. they was created from bulldogs(who was used to fight in the pits before the pitbull came along) and the white terrier(who is now exsticnt and and who also help create many of the terrier breeds to day and thays were the pitbull got there high prey drive from) but you never hear anybody talking about kill all the bulldogs and terriers. i know there is still people out there using pitbulls for fighting and they should not be aloud to own them. they are the ones who train there dogs to be human aggressive and mean. and they are the ones who are giving the dogs a bad name, and makeing people who love the breed(not for fighting) for what they are loyal, loving, affecinate and eager to please animals that just want to be loved.

I snatched a pup two weeks old away from the stray mother, as she was infected with flea bites. Bottle fed her, her name is Juliette, she is one year old now and looks just like the picture you posted of Maggie. Think she is a mix between a yellow Lab and a Pit Bull and Lord knows what else. Anyway, she is the cutest, smartest and most lively dog I have ever had. Almost like a person. Those energy levels!!! No agression at all, and needs love all the time. Had to write, after seeing Maggies picture. Or is it Daisy?
