I Am A Bird Nestled In The Tree

I look down upon the world and wonder how is it I am so lucky

I rest here still and observing

While other birds have there feathers in a ruffle

I don't have one trouble

I listen to the wind speak

It Talks about life and the mysteries we try to unravel

I am warm even though it is cold and windy

I watch the sun rise and set as many don't take notice

They are on with their busy lives

Believing the early bird gets the worm

I don't join in what others do

All I do is stretch a bit from time to time

I watch life as if it was a game to be played

Someone will win

Someone will lose

But the ones who have the most fun

Are those who enjoy playing the game

They come back time and time again

To feel the excitement and thrill

Just to participate is all they ever wanted

No score ever neccessary

Since the victory is in the passion

Of wondering how the game will be played

Will it start off slow?

Will one team take a quick lead and hold it to the end?

Will the underdog succeed and cause the biggest upset?

Will the favorite dominate with power and precision?

Will the fans cheer with vigor and enthusiasm?

While one bird far away

Sits and watches while others play

Thinking of a worm it will find

Hidden in the grass that they dig up

So he waits patiently to see what treasure is uncovered

When others leave and think the end of the game has come

I will leave my nest

I will enjoy my search

For one worm who minutes ago was deep in the earth

I let others do the work I could do

But I am smarter and rest here thinking

How tasty my little treat will be

As soon as the game is over

I can celebrate my victory dance

So life is not what we think it is

Life is what we make of it

Some people will fall in the mud

Some people will call it quits

While others roll over and jump to there feet

I watch when the rain comes

A few people get wet and will leave

I see the rain come down hard

I watch closely

Because every worm will rise

I will be waiting

For lifes wonders to come alive

I pitty those who don't think
