If Are Pets Could Talk What Would They Say ?

Updated on December 2, 2010

I Have My Eyes On You

Many times in one day I am always in and out of the house

We have a kitten that is trying to escape

When we go to the door no matter where she is

She comes flying to the door with lightning speed

We say nooooooooo

Like she is really going to listen

I reach out my hand to stop her in her tracks

That is only temporary because she knows where there is an out

There is also an in and I will be back again soon

She will be waiting for that right moment

When I am too preoccupied with coming in

Thats when she makes her move to scoot inbetween my legs and the door

Off she goes down the side steps

Under the car where I can't reach

I TELL HER NO and off she goes faster than a rabbit

I try to talk to her in a civil tone

Why would you leave us ?

What do we do beat you with hugs and love

We want you to be safe and outside you could get hurt

O.k. reasoning doesn't work

Look what I have, your favorite toy

Your pet mouse

You just think why do I want they fake piece of cloth when I can have the real macoy

A real live breathing furry friend that I can bat around from end to end

Now look,  I have to go to work and if you don't come out,  you will be left here out all night

Trying to use a little scare tactics

She made her move from one end of the car to the other

Still out of my hands reach

Now this is rediculous as I climb underneath trying to flush her out

She is almost hidden by the car wheel

So you want to play a little peek a boo with me

I get a stick to draw your attention

You come closer and everytime I go to grab you

You jump away

When I catch you

We are going to have a long cat talk

Now you see something else

A moving leaf that caught your eye

Off like a kangaroo

This time under the front porch you go

I don't have time for this

As I once again try to get close

This time laying down and my pants getting slightly dirty

My wife has the stick and catches her attention just for a second

I reach and scoop

Yes I have her finally

What do you want?

If you could talk what is it you want to let me know ?

As you struggle to free yourself with no luck

I quickly bring her in the house and make sure the door is shut

My dear Charlette we have had this talk before

You neither listened or cared to be told

But you can't go out

It is winter and too darn cold

You are an indoor cat and that is that

You have the whole house to play and can have lots of fun

What is this fascination with the birds and the trees

Or Is it for the empty driveway you like to run ?

Under the car you are not safe and you could get hurt

I am not sure what you can get into outside and then you will have to go the vet

Now be a good kitty and stay inside where you belong

No more prison escapes

Then the warden will give you extra priveleges

Like more food and water and a treat

But some how I can read your mind

Your not saying a word

Your buying your time

I think your planning another escape

I will have to be careful and watch you close

Because all it takes

Is one quick push as the door gets opened by the friendly neighbor

Then we will be chasing you down the stairs into the land of freedom

Very nice! I always wonder what what my babies are thinking. We do our best to communicate in our own way, but it would just be great to know for sure. Thanks for sharing!

Darlene Sabella I too love my pets all the time.I constantly pat them and talk to them.I reasure them how much we need them.I don't know what they say or think but I am always guessing. The kitten we have is just full of mischeif and won't stop.I think because she is so young. She climbs up high on our kitchen cabnets and walks across our curtain rods.I have never seen anything like it.We get her down and tried spraying her with a water bottle and then a little tap in the butt.Nothing seems to work.I just don't want her to fall. She is adorable up there. Now I tried loving her more when I take her down and feeding her then she will come running.I hope she won't connect eating with climbing up there.I just don't know.Any ideas?

I like it. Well written. It's fun to think of what animals might be saying. :)

      My animals say "Yo, whaddup?"

Cute! We actually had luck making a grown inside/outside cat an inside cat. It was Dusty who has his Top Cat hub. It was not easy...and I would not say if a door was opened he would not exit...but at least there are no more mad dashes to the outside. Cats are much safer inside and actually live longer. You are doing the right thing!
