The world would be a nicer place if everyone had the ability to love as unconditionally as a dog.

Kujo, our loving dog for seven years

It's been seven years since we had our dog named Kujo. At first, we know him as a little aggressive Maltese dog that doesn't let anyone get near to him. He spent a few weeks adjusting to his new environment and later on, we get to see him welcoming us when we got home!

That is the day when our whole lives were changed. The once aggressive adopted Maltese dog, became our best friend, support, and most of all our loving companion.

Here are 10 life lessons that our dog friends teach us:

1. Some Events Or Happenings In life Are Worth Waiting For

2. Listen Well

3. Do Not Be Afraid To Express Affection To The Person You Love

4. Learn To Save

5. Live For The Moment

6. Love Beyond Physical Appearance

7. Protect

8. Take Several Naps

9. Stay Loyal

10. Have Fun!

1. Some Events Or Happenings In life Are Worth Waiting For

We all get to see our dog welcoming us with joy and love whenever we get home. You can see a lot of videos wherein dogs wait for the command of their owner before indulging into food. Some videos also show dogs performing acts or deeds before getting their reward.

Dogs show that waiting for their owner is a great thing to do because they are waiting for the one they love. Also, even when they are eager to eat or get something, they get patient and wait before they get their reward.

Most often, we tend to rush and settle into things or people that will satisfy our cravings even though we deserve something more. Learn the beauty in waiting. Most of the things that we truly deserve are worth waiting or working hard for.

2. Listen Well

We find dogs listening to us, looking up at us with puppy eyes whenever we talk to them. They stay silent and sit pretty beside us when we talk to them. They focus their whole attention to us.

When we listen, we should put our whole focus on the person talking. We shouldn't be thinking of what food you will be eating later, or what you will wear later - instead, you should focus well on what the other person is saying. To listen well is to understand well. It is one of the greatest lessons that dogs could show us.

3. Do Not Be Afraid To Express Affection To The Person You Love

Dogs show their affection to their owner. You can find them wiggling their tails whenever they are petted, licking their owner's face, and sitting or lying near to their favorite human. Dogs always express their love that you wouldn't doubt their feelings.

Express your love. Show it through your words and actions. Hug. Appreciate. Care more. Love more. You won't have every time in the world to express your love. Show it while you still can.

4. Learn To Save

You can find dogs burying pieces of bone in the ground for their food. Dogs bury things that they think they will need. They save what they can use for later.

Save. Save while you still have some. We tend to use up all the resources that we have, spend all our money and have fun. The right thing to do is to use what we need for now and save the rest for future use.

5. Live For The Moment

Dogs live in the moment. You can find them giving all their attention to their favorite human whenever he is around. When it is time for playtime, they play. When their owner is sleeping, they will also sleep or take charge in guarding the house. When they are outside, they smell and appreciate the air outside. They find beauty in whatever they are doing.

Appreciate the beauty in your daily life. Live in the moment. Took notice of the beauty in nature when you walk. Spend quality time with your loved ones whenever they are around. Find the beauty and goodness in everything that you do.

6. Love Beyond Physical Appearance

Dogs love their owner no matter how they look and smell. Even when their owner just woke up, dogs beam with love whenever they welcome their human.

Love beyond physical appearance. Look for the beauty in the insides of people.

7. Protect

Dogs guard our houses. They show their aggressive side whenever their owners are threatened. They always protect what is important to them.

Protect what you consider important. Protect your loved ones. Protect yourself. Above all else, guard your heart. Protect it so it wouldn't be broken completely. Guard everything that you would regret losing later.

8. Take Several Naps

Dogs do not stay up all day, they take rest by taking several naps.

To be productive enough, we could learn from dogs by taking several naps. Short naps are said to increase our focus and attention span. Working in long hours may lead to us having a burnout. Take a rest if you must. Don't forget to take care of yourself so that you'll be able to live life to the fullest.

9. Stay Loyal

Dogs are known to be loyal to their favorite human. They will stay a best friend to their human until the end.

Stay loyal. Be it with your friends, partner in life and family. Be someone they can run to whenever life gets tough. Be a friend. As for romantic relationships, stick to one.

10. Have Fun!

Dogs play, run, walk around, and just enjoy nature! They will always have the time to enjoy life and just play.

Just like dogs, we will never be too old to have fun. So go take a walk, appreciate nature, invite your favorite human, and simply have fun. Life is too beautiful to be sitting idly. Be active and live it to the fullest.
