Prediction: The Cat Will Jump in the Box
It's a Box
I did not let the cat out of the bag.
I put a box outside my door on my deck and was going to experiment with how long it would take for a cat to jump into a box. I tossed a few Temptations Salmon treats into the box. I'm not a complete Monster. Smile.
The cat smelled the treats and came to investigate. She was there within a couple seconds of me placing the box on the deck. She circled the box and then, smelled inside the box.
Not able to reach them, she started to reach into the box. First her front legs and head, then, her body, head and feet, then, the rest of her body followed.
Inspired
I was inspired to do this by a picture of a leopard sitting in a box. The caption mentioned that the urge to go in a box was present in all cat breeds, wild or tame.
To validate this "experiment", truly I should fetch another box, and toss cat treats into the box to entice the cat into said box, should said cat should find it unappealing to participate.
Where there is a will, there is a way.
Interesting thought, today my cats shall become guinea pigs. Am I right?
Cat Experiment - Box Number 2
I selected the same box.
Since today is a little bit colder, I will conduct this example in the garage, where it is slightly less cold. There is no heat, but this may work better. No wind. No snow. Just a cat, or two, and a box and the mysterious salmon enticer.
