Product Review: The Fabulous FURminator
The FURminator
Although a little pricey (I paid about $27 for small dog FURminator on Amazon), I had read such great things about the FURminator that I had to give it a try, especially when I kept waking up covered in dog hair.
Shake, Shake, Shake
Being 1/2 pug, my dog Lucy is quite the shedder, although you'd never know it by looking at her - however, if you look at my bedding and furniture, you'd see differently.
She's a champion shaker and does it with real vigor, often in my face. But, since using the FURminator, she doesn't shake anymore (until it's time to deshed again - that's my cue.)
How to Use the FURminator
There's really nothing to it, just brush as usual, but you don't need to press hard at all. Within a few strokes, the metal comb is full.
Eject!
Now that the comb is full, just press the button (the only button) and the fur ball ejects completely, leaving the comb clean and you saying, "Where the heck did all that come from?"
A Change of Clothes
Now that your pet has a new coat, you will need to do the same. I'm usually the new furry one after the process. (Remember that suggestion to do this outside?)
But, What Does the Expert Think?
Lucy tolerated the combing very well, had no complaints, paid no attention, just went on sniffing the air. For lack of irritation, quick results, and a great-feeling new coat, she gives the FURminator 3 paws up!
