    has anyone ever heard a horses hooves changeing color?

    my horse at 4 years old had full white hooves now at the age of 6 years old he has black stripes?????

    No. They as a rule are pretty much born with a certain density. I've never had one that changed and Ward's owned hundreds of horses and never seen this happen. There is always of course a first time.

    Yes, white hooves especially are prone to changing color, or, more commonly, developing dark vertical stripes.  If the stripes appear reddish in color and are not symmetrical, then they might be a result of bruising inside the hoof wall.  Otherwise, it's probably just a development, just as some horse's coats change through the years.
