Does Parvo virus harm puppy's neural system?
I have a puppy which was infected by Parvo virus. He was at near the death. But, he could survive because of my nursing and hard work. It has been about 4 months since he has survived but, he is still nodding his head unnaturally and he doesn't have any sense of velocity and equilibrium. Beside that he is a cute loving puppy which understands me very well and have very good behavior. I am so worried that if he won't ever be fully recovered from this situation. Do you have any experiences with this kind of puppy and do you know any cure for him?
I would like to answer your question as follows:
Primary the parvo virus in puppies affects the GIT system and I have not had any case of nervous infection.I would however caution you that Parvo Virus has been found to cerebral neurons in certain circumstances.
In theory evidence of Parvovirus Replication in Cerebral Neurons of Cats has been observed. I would recommend you keep updating me on any nervous signs that you observe and I will give you advice and the measures you can take to avert any nervous problem developing.
I am waiting for your update on the case.
