Is it normal for my chi puppy to have bloody urine and constipation after being spayed?
My 6 month old, 2 pound, chihuahua puppy was spayed Thursday and now it's Saturday and she has bloody urine. It started out as a little pink tint and now it's darker. She's urinating more frequently than normal, and I can tell she's uncomfortable when urinating. She has an appetite. She's eating and drinking.
Bloody urine and constipation are NOT symptoms of spaying. I hope you sought out veterinary care right away. As a veterinary technician I am not sure what the clinical diagnosis would be, but there a number of possibilities. More frequent urination that contains blood is usually due to a urinary tract infection. A typical spay does not damage the bladder in any way. Further more, constipation is an unusual post surgery symptom. My best guess about the constipation would be that she is in pain from the procedure or potential UTI. Hope she is doing well!

I have a miniature Shih tzu X Maltese puppy (girl). She is 3 months old. Both ears were down. Last week I notice one ear is up. This is not a normal characteristic of this breed (from what I've read). Is this normal?
