I gave my dog a knotted pork hide bone ( she is a bluetick she's 50 pounds and has had them before)
I didn't know they could cause blockages she only ate the top of the bone before I fount out and took it its been about 82 hours since she ate it and has been eating drinking playing and having reg bowel movements so far I have panicked since I gave it to her after I fount this out since its been past 72 hours is she gonna b ok I talked to a vet and he didn't seem concerned but I'm still worried
I've had a much smaller dog (Jack Russell Terrier) eat a knotted pork hide and be fine. I believe its the expanding of the raw hide in the stomach that can cause blockages. As long as your dog didn't swallow a large piece I think she will be fine.
Thanks I'm not to sure if she did or not i had the bone on the counter and went and took a shower and miss Lilly decided to take it it'll be a week tommrow she seems ok hope it stays this way!!
