Has anyone ever told you that your beloved pet was the ugliest animal they ever saw?

We love our furry children just like human ones so when someone insults us about them, what do you do?

Sometimes silence is enough to convey a message.

I own snakes and tarantulas, so yes, I frequently get told that my beloved pets are "hideous" or "terrifying." My pets have even caused my own grandmother to go into a panic attack in the middle of the night and require a hospital visit because she couldn't relax knowing there was a pet snake in the house.

When I tell people I have 5 beautiful, adorable snakes, I am often told "Yuck!" or asked "Why??" with incredulous disgust. It's hurtful, and I get sick of it, but I just smile and say "They are definitely not for everybody." Because it's true. Not everyone can appreciate the beauty of the world around them.

I can see why you get those remarks...they are hardly the cuddly type.
You clearly love them and that's all the matters. Yes, beauty IS in the eye of the beholder. :-)
