Sweet Sadie the Mountain Cur Dog Needs a Home
Adopt Sadie at Natchitoches Hope for Paws
Sadie, the small dog, found an outstanding couple, who cared for her, but could not keep her. Natchitoches Hope for Paws (NHP) took this sweet and lovable dog in and is helping her find her forever home. Sadie is housebroken and is good with children and other dogs. She loves to cuddle.
Little Sadie, the Mountain Cur, was shot in her hind foot and the bullet can not be removed plus her haunch (heel) is damaged. But despite the injury, she loves to run and play, even though she does favor that back foot.

Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Sadie's Story
The caring couple who Sadie first found began their note to Natchitoches Hope for Paws with this quote from the Bible:
"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, ...... "The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." Bible, Book of Matthew 25:40
When Sadie came to their house, she was literally, skin and bones and was limping badly. But the first time she saw the man, the small, young female ran to him as if he were her long lost master. This brave little dog has a heart as big as the ocean.
The couple called her "Sadie". They cared for her and treated her ills, which included internal parasites among other things. They even had her spayed. They could not keep her, but they refused to throw her away, like some others had.

They contacted NHP and the small organization took this 20 pound bundle of joy in. Now, all the volunteers there have fallen in love with this awesome girl. Some have taken her home with them for "over nights" and as you can see she is a jewel. She loves to be in a home and fell right into the routine. Sadie does not like the kennel and needs to be in either foster care or to find her forever home.

Little Sadie Doesn't Let the Bad Stuff Get Her Down
Even though some terrible things happened to this little girl, she continues to give unconditional love to whomever she meets. It doesn't matter that some cruel person shot her in the foot or that someone abandoned her. It doesn't matter that she was once emaciated. Sadie is lively and loving. And she needs a forever home, with a family who will love and care for her. She will return that love 100% and then some.
Sadie is was positive for heart worms and has been treated with doxycycline and monthly heartgard. NHP wants to treat her (and the others who tested positive for heart worms) before she is adopted. Because some kind soul donated the funds and she has received the treatment and is now free of heart worms. At this time Natchitoches Hope for Paws has at least 8 other rescued dogs which tested positive for heart worms. Any donation to Natchitoches Hope for Paws to help these deserving dogs would be appreciated.
Sadie Has Found Her Forever Home!
A kind lady adopted this little bundle of joy. Sadie is now enjoying warm laps in a home of her own. However, NHP still has many adorable little dogs that are ready to adopt. Check them out Here.
The NHP Has Limited Resources & Many Rescued Animals
Rescuing Animals Costs a Great Deal
The average cost (for vaccinations, worming, spaying/neutering, etc) per rescued dog is over $100.00. That doesn't count food or special care like injuries.
If you'd like to give a donation it would be greatly appreciated. You can do so at Natchitoches Hope for Paws Donations and they accept PayPal and major credit cards.
