Dino-dough!

Ever wondered how to make Playdough? Well look no further! Here are 5 easy steps to making your very own Playdough:

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups of flour
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar or alum
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2-3 tablespoons oil
  • 2 packages unsweetened kool-aid

You can find all of these ingredients in your local grocery store (but they're probably already in your kitchen!)

5 Easy Steps

  1. Combine the ingredients together.
  2. Stir well.
  3. Knead the dough.
  4. Enjoy!
  5. Store it in a covered plastic container or zip-lock bag.

Playdough is not only fun, it's quite educational! Playdough helps children develop the finger control and coordination they need for writing. Show your child how to roll and make balls with the playdough. Use the playdough to make shapes, letters and numbers.

Oh, and be creative!

Haha I know what you're talking about Morgan, that thing is awesome! Non-Newtonian fluid goo thing? It's pretty darn neat.

I found a video of Ellen Degeneres playing with some, check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amfjWWMg9c0

And lol, playdough does smell awesome!

Great hub I always loved playdough as a kid. I still love the way it smells...is that weird? lol. One of my favorite things to make when I was little was cornstarch and water. I believe it's like 1 cup of cornstarch to 1 and 1/2 cups of water. It's really cool but hard to explain, you might find it on u-tube.

Thanks prasetio! I tried keeping it simple - sometimes it's better not to over-complicate things

This would be completely edible, but not very healthy, right?
