6 Best Wordpress Theme Generators That Do Not Need Coding

Updated on June 11, 2015

WordPress Theme Generator Review

WordPress may be the most popular content management system (CMS) today. There are currently millions of people using WordPress around the world. Its popularity is unsurprising when you consider the many features and plug-ins that come with.

One of the biggest concerns when it comes to WordPress is its theme. Every day, there are hundreds of themes being added to the library and most of them are free. The trouble with using a free one is that your site may look too similar to others. You don't want that as it may affect the integrity of your web page.

The ideal solution would be to design your own WordPress theme. But if you do not have the coding expertise, do not worry. There are many WordPress theme design programs that do not require any web design expertise. I go through some of the better ones below.

1. TemplateToaster

Source

TemplateToaster is the most highly recommended WordPress theme generator software today because of its features and specifications.

It is very user-friendly. It does not take a genius or an expert web designer to use this software. It does all the coding for you and frees the user from having to manually enter lines of code. Though it is intended for beginners, advanced users use the program as well.

Another great feature is its "Drag and Drop" functionality. You can simply choose a design element and "drag" it into your “canvas”. That saves you from having to re-do the code every time you change the design of your theme. Of course, it is best to try TemplateToaster for yourself by visiting their website to know more about this fantastic WordPress theme creator.

2. Elegant Themes

Source

Elegant Themes has been in the business for many years now and undeniably has developed a solid reputation. This WordPress theme generator also offers theme design without messing with any code. Elegant Themes is available for the price of $89 per year.

3. iThemes Builder

Source

Like the two WordPress theme generator mentioned above, iThemes Builder offers drag and drop functionality. The users can also add modules in their design such as content areas, widget bars, headers, footers, and navigation. You can also try their Style Manager plug-in which allows you to customize your design without coding.

4. Ultimatum

Source

Even if you are a web design neophyte, you can still use Ultimatum. It can help you create slideshows and forms that will be outstanding additions to your WordPress theme. If you do not know how to code, then you can use Ultimatum’s advanced drag and drop function.

5. PageLines

Source

The specialty of PageLines is the drag and drop function. Even if you do not have the expertise in computer and binary language, you can still choose how your website will look.

6. Headway

Source

Like the WordPress theme generators mentioned here, Headway is a remarkable drag and drop theme framework. Headway can help you manipulate the background images of your webpage.

Conclusion

All these theme generators can be used by both beginners and skilled designers. Each of them has their own advantages and disadvantages. But it is always better to start with TemplateToaster since they have the most user-friendly interface thousands of options. TemplateToaster can provide you a stepping stone to start your web design career and can take you from being a newbie to a world-class designer.

I find it interesting that you mention template toaster but do not mention artisteer, which template toaster was inspired from, or to put it bluntly, mostly copied from, albeit with a few mods to make it less obvious. I have tried both, and find artisteer's interface a little nicer than that of template toaster. While viewing your article, it so turned out that the google ad showed artisteer even though your article didn't!
