Shapes Part - II

Introduction

In the last article, we saw the basic shapes made from coils / rolls. This article will cover the basic shapes made from scrolls. Following are the shapes that we will be covering together:

  1. Filigree coil
  2. Loose scrolls
  3. Heart
  4. V- scroll
  5. C - scroll
  6. S - scroll
  7. Feelers shaped
  8. Quotes shaped
  9. P - scroll
  10. Arrowhead shaped
  11. Three coil shaped
  12. Spiral

In this hub, we will also learn how to make a fringed flower.

Materials

Continuing the basic shapes, we only need the basic materials.

  1. Paper strips
  2. Slotted "quilling" tool
  3. Glue
  4. Scissors

Filigree coil

  1. Roll the paper strip and let loose.
  2. Do not glue the end.

Loose Scroll

Loose Scroll

  1. Take a paper strip.
  2. Roll one end, leaving the other end loose.

Heart

Heart

  1. Take a paper strip.
  2. Fold it into half.
  3. Roll both ends towards the center.

V-Shaped

V - Scroll

  1. Take a paper strip.
  2. Fold at the center.
  3. Roll the ends away from each other.

C- Shaped

C - Scroll

  1. Take a paper strip.
  2. Roll both ends towards each other.

S-Scroll

S - Scroll

  1. Take a paper strip.
  2. Roll both ends away from each other.

Feelers Shaped

  1. Make a "V" shaped scroll.
  2. Glue the center of the V scroll.

Quotes Shaped

  1. Fold the paper strip in half.
  2. Roll both ends in the same direction.

P- Shaped

  1. Fold the paper strip in half.
  2. Roll the two ends together in the same direction.

Arrowhead Shaped

Arrowhead shaped

  1. Fold the paper strip in half.
  2. fold the ends into the center and secure them with glue.
  3. Roll the two ends towards the center.

Three - Coil Shaped

  1. Fold the paper strip into half.
  2. Roll both open ends towards one direction or away from each other.
  3. Roll coil at the folded end.

Spiral

Roll the paper strip at an angle on any thin stick. I used a crochet hook. Knitting needles or chopsticks work fine too.

Fringed Flower

Instructions:

Take a paper strip (10 mm)

Make cut 3/4th the length of the paper on the whole strip.

Roll the cut (fringed) length into a tight circle.

Glue at the end

With the help of your fingers, spread the fringes so that they open up.
