Drawing with Colors in Ball Point Pen
Colored Ball Point Pens
Drawing with ball point pens in more than one color can give your work a unique look.
More often when working with ball point I choose to work with black Bic but once and awhile I will work with more than one color depending on the look I want.
In the sketch I did below for this article I left the drawing unfinished so you can see the process in how I am working on this.
The pens I used in the drawing were all medium point. Black Bic, red Paper Mate and blue Paper Mate.
Bottom of this article you can see a drawing I started with a very light pencil sketch and moved on to blue ball point pen laying in light color and building up using some cross hatching. The red ball point pen is being used as almost an undertone very light building with hatching and light vertical lines. Black ball point gives more depth to the drawing and I am using those in the final build up of lines.
One note. I have noticed that blue ball point likes to clog allot quicker than black or red, maybe it was just the individual pen I used on this sketch or the paper I am using, (combination of both) but I have rolled the blotting tip on scrap paper before glopping onto the sketch.
