Definition of the word Exhort: Means to advise strongly, or to entreat, or plead, or implore or beg.

Romans chapter 128 : Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity, he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

1 Timothy chapter 6 - 2 : And they that have believing maste, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.

Titus chapter 1 - 9 : Holding fast the faithful words as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine, both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

It's very important that we plead Gods cause, and objective of knowing and living the word of God. It's also important that we teach and preach by exhortation of Gods word, by being living example.
