Now, I’m planning to learn Cad and AutoCad drafting and architectural cad.

Back in the days when drafting was still so manual, I was fascinated by 2d and 3d perspective drawings. Now that everything upgraded into computer aided designs and architectural desktop, everything that is within one’s creativity and imagination is just a click away. So, I’m now spending extra couple of hours taking up autoCad training course basics making me so curious to learn ACAD symbols, creating custom bitmap materials, sky backgrounds, units and scales, drawing objects, 2d and 3d cad concepts and other 2010, 2011 AutoCad fundamentals and beyond. And did I say I’m not enrolled in an actual CAD school taking up autocad course and actual cad classes? Yup, I’m taking autocad training and tutorials online and this is all free.

What is AutoCad and Why it is so Popular Architectural & Construction Industry?

“AutoCAD is one of the most popular Computer Aided Design programs developed to help professionals design and analyze products, buildings or structures without having to draw up plans manually. While CAD applications prior to AutoCAD involved large amount of computing power in the form of gigantic computers. AutoCAD has simplified its operations to optimize it for the IBM PC, allowing people to work from home or on their own workstations.

AutoCAD uses DWG as a standard file format which is now largely accepted as a standard for all CAD design and drafting work. As per industry estimates there are more than 1 billion DWG files are in operation around the world today. Although a number of other CAD applications are present at this point, including programs for UNIX and Mac OSX, AutoCAD continues to be the undisputed leader and parks a number of standards in the CAD community.

AutoCAD has many in-built tools to help architects or designers work on individual projects. The software is comprehensive in its nature focusing more on 2D/3D renderings and also incorporates industry standards for product design and animation. The software gives seamless integration between other software and low cost high-speed prototyping is in many ways changing the way design is being carried out, and has by and large eradicated barriers to entry.” - articlesbase.com
