Map to your house
What you will need:
- Large thin paper
- Ruler
- Color pencils
- Markers
Directions:
Use the the large paper as your map of course, decide what you want in your map. Draw your house along with the roads that lead to it. This teaches your child how to get to their house without getting lost. It's a fun activity you and the kids can do together. Be creative and let them color objects that remind them of how to get home.
The Family Newspaper!
What you will need:
- Strong paper (Large paper)
- Colorful pens
- Crayons
- Glue
- Family photos
Directions:
Take your strong large paper, and make a title for your family newspaper, Get creative by adding pictures of the family and writing about it. Share memories on the paper like a newspaper. Decorate the newspaper with the creative minds of your children and write the stories and memories with the color pens. Be creative make this newspaper your own with the help of the family.
Plant a Tree
What you will need:
- Water
- Tree sapling
- Patience
Here's what you do find a place in the yard that gets a lot of sun and plant the tree sapling with the kids make it something that they take care of every day. This will give your kids something to to take care of and have responsibility

Homemade Bored Game
What you will need:
- Large square piece of cardboard
- White paper
- Markers
- Pens (Different color)
- Thick paper
- Color Construction paper
- Glue
- Scissors
Directions:
With your large piece of cardboard glue white paper covering the cardboard so that you can draw a board game onto it. Design a maze on the board so that you can use the pieces you make to take steps like a normal board game. But be creative make this board game for your family, and name it anyway you want it. The different colored pens are to write on the board game adding whatever creative idea you have to make the game exciting. The thick paper is to cut into little cards so that you can use to write a number on the front and place the cards upside down. so when a player draws a card they move up that many spaces. ( add challenges to the game by making some cards have the player go backwards.. The construction paper is to make your player pieces. Be creative and make this game your own.
Shoe Box Doll-House
What you will need:
- Four shoe boxes as well as the lids (Roughly the same size)
- scissors
- Construction paper
- Markers
- Glue
- Tape
Directions:
Take your shoe boxes, All four place them together making a square (You can add more shoe boxes if you want more rooms this is just a basic design). Tape them together, Glue the paper all around the shoe boxes once you've taped them together so that the paper will house the house together better. Also so you can deisign the outside of the house with windows and other stuff you'd like to have. The shoe box lids are for the rough. Placing the shoe box lids on the ruff to make a pointy rough is easy and you can get creative making them however you'd like
Making furniture for your shoe Box Dollhouse
What you will need:
- Popsicle sticks (Different sizes)
- Paints (Different color)
- Paint brush
- Glue
- Scissors
- Thin Cardboard pieces
- Tape
Directions
With the Popsicle sticks you can make a couch, a bed, a table and chairs
with the Cardboard pieces you can make a fridge, a bathtub and a counter
Be creative with the sticks you can make a nice design with the popsicle sticks of the furniture you would like in your new doll house remember before you start painting your furniture you have to let the glue dry. With the thin cardboard pieces you can make just about anything with shape just use tape and your imagination.

Memory Game
What you will need:
- Pictures of your favorite characters, family pictures, or anything and make them double
- Same color construction paper
- Glue
- Scissors
Directions:
Take your pictures and glue them on the construction paper that you cut out into squares the size of your pictures. You can also mae a matching game by using pictures that relate to each other. That teaches your children how to match each item with something that goes with it. Make sure you have enough pictures to make a game out of it.
Family creative shirts
What you will need:
- Blank t-shirts of each size of each kids
- Finger paints
- Glitter
Directions:
Make sure you iron your shirts before painting them. Once you've iron your T-shirts let the kids dig into the finger paints letting their creativity shine. Make yourself a finger painted t-shirt as well so that you can wear the shirts with them as a family. When you and the kids are done finger painting hang dry the t-shirts until the paint is done drying. The glitter is optional.
Lemonade Stand
What you will need:
- Fresh Lemonade
- Large pitcher
- Paper cups
- Small table
- Tablecloth
- Signs
- A chair
Directions:
In the summer time is the best time to have it, Set up your Lemonade stand with the small table tablecloth, set up the signs around the neighborhood so that the kids can sell their lemonade. Sell the lemonade for about 25 to 25 cents. The kids will have fun with the fund raising and let them decide what they want to do with the money. Having them raise the money to donate to something helps them feel more energetic about it
Birdfeeder
What you will need:
- Toilet paper Rolls {as many as you like)
- Strong string
- Peanut butter
- Bird seeds
- Corn flake cereal
- Honey
- Long shallow container
Directions:
With a long shallow container pour your bird feed and cereal into in. Take the paper towel rolls or toilet paper rolls and speed peanut nut butter on them, roll them in the mix that is in the long shallow container. Then take the honey and pour some honey on top of the bird feed then place the rolls back into the mix.. Sit the rolls on a paper towel and let them dry once they are dry put the on the strong string and hang the bird feeder on a tree branch.

Family Field Trips Cheap or Free
- Backyard Adventure: Make a back yard adventure, Get your children to gather leaves, acorns and pine cones for arts and craft projects
- Camp-in: Either make a tent out of sheets or set up a tent in your living room. Make popcorn and other snacks and get a flashlight sit in the tent with the flashlight tell scary stories and eat popcorn
- Beach Outing: Take the kids to your local beach and bring a bucket or a basket get the kids to look for seashells on the beach, you can use the seashells for another craft with the kids
- Plane Watching: Kids love interesting things, take them to a park near the airport and sit inside the car or inside the car and watch as the planes pass over you.
- Nature Walk: Usually the state parks have trails you can walk through, if you can take the kids to a national park and walk with them through the trails getting them to spot nature as they walk through
- Picnic: Find a nice spot in the shade if its summer or a nice open space in the spring winter or fall (Summer and spring is usually the best time to have a picnic) Pack some snacks and a lunch that wont spoil and lay a blanket out to sit on. This is a perfect time to learn about your kids listening to their stories and what's on their mind.
- Movie Night: Movie night is fun especially when you make it a tradition, Have a movie night. With popcorn hot chocolate and a movie you all would love.
- Flea Market: This may be more fun for the older ones. Taking the kids to a flea market is fun. Seeing all sorts of different things in the market
- Farm visit: Some farms will do special events and they let people come in a pet their farm animals for a small price sometimes its free. This is fun for kids because many kids love animals
