Fun and Easy Arts and Crafts for Kids
Chalking made easy
A New Way to Chalk
Chalking is not new to the arts and crafts world. It has been around forever. Notice all those beautiful chalked beer menu's and 'Daily Specials' signs, but it just got a little easier to replicate.
Standard chalking methods include great penmanship and the ability to never screw up. You can make some amazing things with Chalk, and people really do very well. But for the everyday crafter, chalking is just plain hard.
A new company has created a very simple paste and stencil system that produce some amazing pieces of artwork to display in your home. From calendars to signs to decorative dishes, it is really perfect for a variety of projects. The paste can be used on chalkboards, windows, mirrors, tile, whiteboards, appliances, painted furniture and so much more.
The best part about this system is that it is removable and the stencils are reusable.
The specialty formulated Chalk Paste is a water-soluble crafting paste that goes on wet, dries hard and washes off of nonporous surfaces with water. When used on natural unpainted wood, there may be leftover paste that cannot be removed. You can sand it off if needed.
Once it is dry it will not smear or smudge and has a durable yet smooth finish. It can be layered, glittered (while it’s wet) and even written on once it is dry. See some of the chalk designs below.

How to use Chalk Pastes and Transfers
The below image is a great visual for how you will be using the chalk paste and stencils. The stencils, or as we call them, transfers, are reusable up to 20+ times. Be sure to take care of them, and don't neglect cleaning the transfers after each use for best results.
To clean the transfers, you will want to first take care when pulling them off any non porous surface. Then you will want to rinse off the Chalk Paste immediately. This task is accomplished easier if you set out a cookie sheet with a layer of water on it. You will also want to take care that the Chalk Transfer won’t stick to itself by accident.
After all visible Chalk Paste is washed off, wipe both sides with a disinfecting wipe to remove any paste residue. Lay the Chalk Transfer, sticky side up, out to dry. Once the Chalk Transfer is dry, replace it on the backer (on the shiny side) and smooth it out using a squeegee or spatula.
