Collecting Fine Art
My mother paints divine watercolors. Her work is the cornerstone of my art collection which includes an original Miguel Ordoqui etching, signed pieces by my sisters, an etched Buddha, a bountiful oil painting of luscious green olives and golden decanter, and an intertwined tantric couple, also in oil, each purchased directly from the artist. In a previous lifetime I owned three Miró lithographs, but that is a story for another day.
Does that make me an art collector? I'd like to think so. But not on the scale of certain friends of mine, who've actually attended Art Basel in Basel, the Venice Biennale, and other important exhibitions as a matter of habit... like my friend B., who began collecting at 13, saving up for a Lichtenstein, and parlaying that first purchase into an important modern art collection.
So, I've put together a virtual collection of select fine art pieces on Ebay, as a way of amplifying the scope of my wish list.
If you should decide to bid on one of the pieces here, not only do I forgive you, but I thank you.
Please return often, as we will be curating new works regularly.
