Holst Shop – The Best in Fine Art Reproduction

Holst is a website that I enjoyed going through, and writing a critique for it was a breeze. Here's why.

Vast Collection of Retouched Paintings

The very first thing that you’ll see on the home page is picture of a set of red steps that invites you up to the door of the shop. As your eyes pan to the right, towards the menu bar, you are immediately engrossed in fine art.

Right at the bottom of the menu bar, you'll find thumbnails of the many pieces you can choose from: the London National Gallery, Van Gogh, Monet, and Picasso, to name a few.

The collections to choose from are vast, and you are sure to find a masterpiece that speaks to you, or one that will perfectly enhance that focal point in a room that you’re decorating. Or if you’re still undecided, and you’d rather browse first, you can easily do that too.

Full and Comprehensive Art Description

Scroll further down to the very bottom of the home page, and you have a full description of exactly what you’ll get when you order. There’s also a link to their affiliate website, and a link for add-on texture gel to your ordered masterpiece.

Not sure what texture gel is? Just click on the link, and it will also tell you what that is. The information page on texture gel also has very detailed photos. You’ll feel like an expert in fine art reproduction, even if it’s your first time to look at fine art reproduction.

If you get overwhelmed by all the art that you see on the home page, go to the tabs on the menu page. You can have all that you want to see categorized by Painters, Styles, and Locations.

Fast, Easy Search and Customized Printing

The last tab lets you order custom prints. The pages load quickly despite being heavy with pictures, so you’re sure that exploring and navigating the site is a pleasant and enjoyable experience.

Still can’t find the exact piece of art to tickle your fancy? Or do you already know exactly what you want, and you want it now?

Not a problem! You can easily do that by using the search bar on the upper right portion of the home page. The Holst Shop website is so intuitive that it doesn’t even need squeeze pages, capture pages, or a call to action on every page. It feels just like walking through an art gallery. Awesome.

When you find the artwork that you like, you may either add it to your favorites, or put it in your shopping cart by clicking on icons at the upper right corner of the thumbnail. Simply click on the picture to see an enlarged version.

Once you have finally decided to buy, all the options to choose from are right there on one page: size, material, varnishing, canvas only, stretcher, or framed painting. There’s no wasting time waiting for another page to load, just to enter product specifics.

Clear and Complete Website Information

There’s also a link to the Information Page on the upper left corner of the Home Page that will tell you all about canvas prints, paper prints, and reproductions. It is complete with photos and videos, including a quick video guide on how to make a purchase. This way, you know you have everything you need to make the best decision on what options to choose when you decide to buy.

At the footers of the site, you will also find Help, Contact Information, and Terms of Use, for when you need a little more guidance about your purchase, or about the company itself. You will always feel connected as they provide their email address, phone number, and a link to Miracle Canvas, their affiliate website.

The Terms of Use are also clear, and easy to understand, even for someone who is ordering fine art reproduction for the very first time. It even injects a little sense of humor with titles like “The Boring Legal Stuff”.

The Verdict

The Holst Shop is definitely one of the best sites for customer experience when searching for many retouched paintings (manually or automatically). It is not just neat and clean, but it’s complete, and convenient. The site is even mobile friendly! Who said you can’t shop for fine art reproduction while you’re on the go? This website makes it easy and accessible for you.
