How to draw a hand

In this tutorial, you will learn how to draw a cartoon-like hand and fingers. If you like my last tutorial, I hope you find this one useful as well. I've noticed that a lot of people struggle with drawing hands. When I randomly look at pictures on the web, I often times see drawings of characters whose hands are concealed. I automatically come to the conclusion that the artist might have been struggling to the draw the hands which is why they left them out of the picture.

I will do my best at explaining how to draw a hand in this step by step tutorial. If you like this tutorial.

Firstly, you start out by drawing the wrists. Draw them to look similar to the image on the right.

Start drawing the base of the thumb and the pinky finger once you finish with the wrist..

This is when it starts to get hard for some people (I assume). Draw the fingers individually. If you want to make the hand look a little more realistic, try using your own hand as reference.

Add some fingernails in like the example. You can change the length of the fingernails to your liking.

Slowly begin adding more detail to your hand.

Your hand should look something like this in the end.
