How To Draw A War Skull
Drawing A War Skull
Drawing a war skull is just like drawing a skull with army gear on, all that means is that when drawing a skull it can be just about drawing death and leave it at that, but no, this is about drawing a war skull tattoo, so lets get on with it.
To draw a war skull tattoo, it's about trying to find a simple design and one that you can see as a tattoo and so to start we always start with a good old oval shape for the head and we take it from there, obviously we do draw in a quick criss cross grid to mark out the eyes and the other features later on.
A lot of my tattoo ideas are simply ideas and that's it, some of them don't ever get developed, but often get placed in files for them to gather dust, so I will at some point be going through these old tattoo designs and re working them so that they can become viable tattoo designs and not just tattoo ideas.
I've sold a lot of tattoo designs over the years and so I have an idea what types of tattoos sell and it's something that I'd like to develop later on.
Now on to step one of our war skull tattoo sketch.....

After the oval shape you can mark out the eyes and in this case I've given the skull an army helmet which suits quite well I think and also suits the theme of war. The cheek bones are given a little run through and the jaw line has been sketched out too.
The idea here is to slowly develop the tattoo and from there things should start to unfold in the design, most times they do, but don't feel disappointed if they don't, just keep working at it.

Drawing A War Skull
The war skull tattoo design needs more detail on the skull face and so that's what we concentrate on, a little sketch here and there for some flames at either side of the Skull design works well, but you could come up with something else if you wanted.
This is the near final stage of drawing and to make a tattoo work really as a good dsign you might have o cut back on some of the extra pencil lines as a tattoo artist may not want all that extra detail to ink on someone as it would fill in in time over the years.
You could do this with a lightbox and go over the all important pencil lines and keep what isn't necessary out an this will make for a stronger skull tattoo design.
How To Draw A War Skull Part Three - Drawing More Detail
Draw A War Skull Design
Drawing a war skull tattoo design, I've drawn more detail in my drawing and so it doesn't really matter, because this will just go in my portfolio as a tattoo idea that I'll develop, but if you really want to draw a war skull tattoo design then I do suggest you leave out all the fluff with detail, because it's not needed.
After this pencil drawing stage, you could ink the drawing if you wish and color i like I have done, so have fun drawing war skull tattoos, because I sure will!
