Keeping your kids entertained at home is a tricky business. Most of the times, kids are bored to death of the same cartoons and games. Trying something new with them is a helpful parenting tip. Also many a times, the kids are stuck to the TV or the video game console like their lives depend on it and all you want to do is drag them away. We understand parental concerns – TV is harmful for young children and so are the video games. To help you out, we’ve got a few parenting ideas that will keep your kid busy and entertained no matter what age they are.

Reuse and Recycle old crayons at home.

Kids love coloring with crayons. But most of the times, they end up breaking them or trying to eat them. Here’s how you can reuse broken crayons - Melt them and mold them together to make rainbow crayons or unique shaped crayons.

Step 1 – Gather all the crayons, peel the paper off them, sort all the crayons by the color family or by the color combinations you want, then break them into smaller pieces.

Step 2 – Melt the crayons. Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Use muffin tins or any mold trays to melt the crayon pieces. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the wax is melted.

Step 3 – Allow the crayons to cool and solidify. You can put them in the freezer to speed up the process. Once they cool down, pop them out of the muffin tin or mold and they are ready to use.
