Making Holes in Plastic Objects
The method
While many people use scissors or a cutter to make holes in plastic objects and most of the times they damage the rest of the object or make an imperfect hole, I personally use a hot pipe or tube to make the holes, which results in perfect holes without damaging the rest of the object. I will explain how to do it in three easy steps.
Step 1: Drawing
To begin with, you have to draw the shape of your hole in the object to know where you have to make your hole.
Step 2: Heating
Now you have to find or buy a metallic object with the shape of your future hole. Personally, as I want a circular hole, I will use an aluminum pipe I had stored. Then you have to heat one of its ends, I will use one of my kitchen's hob, but you can use any heat source you have.
WARNING
Be very careful while heating the pipe and after that, you can get easily burned by simply touching it. It is advised to wear protective gloves while manipulating hot objects.
Step 3: Doing the hole
Now you have to gently press your pipe (Or other object) against the plastic object until it comes out at the other side of it. If the plastic is too thick, you may have to heat and press more than once to get through it.
The result
As a result you get a perfect hole in the shape you wanted (You can use square tubes to get square holes, for example) without the plastic surrounding it being cracked or damaged.
