A Father's Day project - A Pencil Holder
What better Father's Day gift than something Dad can put on his desk and see every day?
Even in this supposedly paperless age of computers and cellphones, Dad still uses pencils and pens and needs a place to store them.
This classy pencil holder says "I love you Dad" and "I made this especially for you"!
What you'll need
- empty frozen juice can or similar cardboard can
- twine or rope, coloured or plain
- paint (colour matching the twine or the rope)
- glue (white glue and hot glue)
- paint brush
- scissors
How to make it
Paint the outside of the juice can in a colour close to the colour of the twine that you have chosen.
Note: if necessary, add a second coat of paint to make the outside opaque.
Put a dot of hot glue near the bottom of the juice can.
Glue the end of the twine to the juice can.
Brush the whole can with diluted white glue.
Turn the twine around the juice can.
Continue to turn the twine until the can is completely covered from top to bottom.
When you reach the top of the can, put a dot of hot glue to attach the end of the twine to the side of the can.
