Mason Jar Crafts Inspired By A&E Duck Dynasty
Not Just for Canning
Mason jars are making a comeback thanks to shows like "Duck Dynasty." At the end of every episode, you see the Robertson family sitting at the dining table, drinking sweet tea from mason jars. For some reason, my oldest daughter has become obsessed with purchasing a case of these jars. Then she came up with something she calls "blessing jars." She recently decorated these jars with her good friend.
The purpose of these jars is to express creativity, of course, but also as a place to put reminders of the blessing in their lives.
Blessing Jars
Decorating your blessing jars is super easy. My daughter and her friend applied acrylic paints with sponge applicators. They further decorated them with paper, buttons, and twine. My daughter used glue dots to adhere the button centers of her flowers.
The girls also painted the mason jar lid.
The paint dries quickly.
Once finished, the girls plan on writing their blessings on a small sheet of paper and placing the jars beside their beds.

In Honor of A&E Duck Dynasty
As I wrote earlier, my daughters were inspired by the show "Duck Dynasty," well my younger daughter had a more simplistic use for the mason jars.
Tervis and other types of heavy plastic drinking cups are all the rage. So my daughter put her own take on it. She had my husband drill a hole in the lid, just large enough to slide a large straw through.
