My Scifi and Fantasy Illustrations

Updated on December 20, 2011

Scifi stuff

And a bit of fantasy. I did these using 3d software. Take a look..

And if you were wondering what ashokscape is, that's my branding for my stuff, my real name being Ashok Rajagopalan.

In my scifi illustrations below, I take a feminist view. Why should only men do all the work? In future, damsels can rescue droids in distress! Now, if the damsel is going to be like that, I don't mind being a droid!

Damsel of the future

Where will I go? - The Abandoned Droid

Even droids need love!
Even droids need love!

Come with me!

And they get it!
And they get it!

Fantasy art

Feminists, note how I have portrayed strong women! Though a Freudian interpretation could be given to these pix, hee, hee!

Very impressive. I've written a science fiction/fantasy novel that I am trying to publish. Right now, I would lack the financial resources to hire a pro like you, but if I have any success finding a publisher, I may look you up. You do great work.

If you'd like to check out my hub, I would be honored.

Jerrico, right! I go about it the same way, too. It's better to use just a few tools for starters and pick up as you go along. You must have tried to use a modelling program which is quite forbidding to beginners.

If you use just a studio like Daz at first, you can have more fun learning the basics,

      then graduate to modelling.

There are a lot of free models up for download by generous modellers and a million tutorials.

I think I shall write a hub to get people to start 3D!

Even your secret thoughts will be charitable ones, G-Ma, he he, so it will be of no use to any blackmailer, hehe! :)

Thanks G-Ma for that wow! I'll send you that diary and the G-Ma's Eyes signed...my New Year gift to you. That diary can't be used, since it is for 2001 or 2. But it still keeps selling, because Sandhya Rao, the writer has wonderful tidbits of info on every spread, with my pastel illustrations.

      Hugs,

      Kenny

Sure, Jerrico. Daz studio for all except the two droid pix. Those were done in Vue Infinite.

      Thanks, Jerrico and DJ.

It's actually very easy to illustrate in 3D when all the hard work is done by the modellers.

My job is more of a photographer's: I put up a virtual set, pose the models, choose their clothes, skin, expression, pose... work the lights and camera, then just render. Some postwork in photoshop helps.

Hmmm...might do a tutorial one day.

      Welcome, Thoogun.

You have claimed ownership to that picture with your interpretation.

Every picture, or piece of writing, or any art, for that matter, depends upon one who creates it and one who enjoys it, and both own the picture.

Yours is a great interpretation, thank you. :)

I was truck by the color in most, particularly in the picture depicting a fairy. A picture that I interpreted as a wonderful contrast between the gray shades of my everyday life and my imagination. It seemed to me that the fairy was trying to grab my attention saying, "reality? Its all nonsense anyway, pay attention to me!" :)

      Great Hub, thooghun

Thank you for that clever pun, SunSeven!

Each can take about 6 to 7 hours. The first one, the red lady, took me only an hour. The figures and props are readymade; I only setup colours, lights and cameras.

How long does it take you to create these beauties?

      Best Regards
