Sea Views Photos Offer Peace and Calmness to your Soul

Updated on October 13, 2015

Sea views in sunlight

It's a special feeling, watching the wonderful light in seascapes. Especially in the morning or evening. Sun light and water makes a perfect and beautiful match. I can just watch the light shifting. Another great thing to do in this wonderful environment is to take some photos. I do that, a lot and I enjoy it very much.

Need to relax?

Can you imagine something more relaxing than watching the sea? The movement of the water that continues in eternity. I love to spend time by the sea. My photos brings me back there, again and again.

Whenever I feel stressed or tired I get into my car and drive to the nearest ocean, sea, or whatever water I find at the moment. I then spend hours looking at the movement of the water. Sometimes it's soft and gentle, sometimes furiously. I love all kinds of water.

My greatest passion is photography and I have taken plenty of water photos. In this hub I will guide you through some of these photos and I hope you will enjoy them. I also hope that some of the greatness of the sea will show. I have chosen primary photos of calm water. They will show the calmness and peace I found by the sea.

Is it worth the effort to get up early to enjoy the morning outside?

Summer mornings by the sea

I usually get up early even in my summer vacation. The light is fantastic and the air is fresh. I recommend you to go out early in the morning and feel the sun on your skin, not yet to hot in that time of the day. The light is stunning and you want meat a soul. Beautiful, calm and realxing.

Some photography suggestions

The purpose of this hub is not to instruct how to take photographs of water, but if you like some start up tips, here are some suggestions:

  • Go out an early morning It will give a smooth feeling in your photos and wonderful light. The same result is possible during the winter, because the sun don't rise so high then.
  • Try to get a good composition, not just water. Some stones or trees for examples can make great and natural frames.
  • Use backlight, I often shoot facing the sunlight. That way you might get great silhouettes. Look at the second photo in this hub.

To recuperate on my way to work

Early morning on the way to work. Two great things; I have to get up early and I pass the Baltic sea on my way to work. Around 6.30 the view is stunning in a sunny day.

I don't have time to stop every day. But once in a while I stay to enjoy the morning and the sea. I shoot some photos and then drive of for work, feeling satisfied and calm.

Beautiful photos! I like to go to the coast during off-season. It has a serenity you cannot find at other times of year, and I especially like the fact that there are few other people.

I spend a good part of my summer on a nearby lake, fishing is what I say I'm doing and do but think the real reason is to do exactly this...relax. I too love the water and you've got me really looking forward to our vacation to the beach this year! Beautiful!

My early childhood was spent on a tiny Island in the Caribbean, when you're surrounded by the ocean it stays in the blood, I love the vastness of it, the calm serenity, the awe-inspiring beauty, but also the incredible energetic power of it all. You've captured it all beautifully in you photos. Great hub, well done.

There is no ocean near me, but there is a beautiful lake which I love to spend time at. I get up before everyone else and go sit in the back of our pontoon boat and watch the sunrise and the geese fly in. It is very peaceful! You photos are beautiful! :)

Kerlund, I absolutely love photos of water and especially the sea or ocean photos! I like the one you called "small wave," that is beautiful! I liked all your photos here, and enjoy the calming and relaxing effect of water too. There is something special to be said for bodies of water. There really isn't anything quite like it. I used to live near the ocean, but don't now. I appreciate it all the more if and when I get to see it, and love looking back over pictures like these. Thanks for sharing these, I loved it! Voted beautiful.

Your pictures are beautiful. I felt like I was walking through a gallery. The ocean is the closest to me. Water in every form gives me a wonderful peace and satisfaction your hub perfectly describes. Now it is raining and how much I love watching water on water. When a storm comes and how a peaceful calm scene can turn into a bold and exhilarating sight.

Water is the mother of life, that might be a reason why we love it, fear it and so on. It is fascinating and gives hope. Without it we will no longer be here. Thank you for your kind comment, I am glad you like my photos:)

      Hi Again,

Can you e-mail me via HP or write me on FB (Maria Jordan)?

I have two friends who have worked with their photography in similar ways (consider prints, greeting cards...wow, the sky is the limit).

I would like to "introduce" you to my friends. Then I think you could run with this...most seriously.
