Hand sewn dog jacket
Most of my hand sewn items are sewn from vintage fabrics
I have a stash of vintage fabrics !
Besides, using my own designs and purposely making most of my handmade items unique with various shapes; styles; and techniques... - I also use vintage fabrics, old buttons and other vintage materials so my hand-sewn items are indeed a unique, one-of-a-kind gift for that special someone - including yourself !
I am always designing and thinking of what to do next...
I have made some of my hand sewn creations (and will continue to make more similar ones) featuring a "pink ribbon" in order to honor of my Mother who fought breast cancer for 15 years.
She was one brave and tough lady.
We lost her on March 25th of 2013 and I miss her so much every day !
I've made more with vintage satin fabrics and am now working on some more Red Hat Lady themed eye mask pillows, sachets and neck pillows as well !
Sometimes, I will hand embroider little extras onto the items to make them extra unique.
If you have purchased from me, please send photos of the items in use to me via email as I so love to see my happy customers smiling faces :)
You can see some of my handiwork online or in person at my shop
My hand-sewn eye mask pillows, neck/travel pillows and sets make a unique gift
I mostly use vintage fabrics for my hand-sewn one of a kind designer items.
I do love to use vintage tablecloths; drapes; blue jeans; pretty hand embroidered pillow cases or some other re-purposing of vintage (and sometimes use new items) as my fabric in my creations.
I have these one-of-a-kind, handmade neck pillows and eye mask pillows in many fabrics, colors, shapes, sizes and styles and all sewn by hand by me.
I love to sew by hand and to embroider by hand.
Remember, I have a collection of vintage treadle sewing machines that I just LOVE, but my favorite method of sewing is done with just the fabric and a needle with thread.
To me, there is something so therapeutic about working by hand :)
Many are in my little Hubbard, Ohio gift shop and some are online.
You can use one while you're relaxing on the couch, going on a long car trip, take one with you on a cruise, they make great travel pillows for a plane trip or while traveling by train as well
You can use one with and eye mask pillow if you want for an extra boost of the relaxing scent of lavender and to help to shut out the light, but you don't have too.
Use what makes you comfortable.
The soft scent of lavender is wonderful and the dream herb mix is wonderful too and really adds to the enjoyment of having your own personal little pillow.
I enjoy making one-of-a-kind items out of vintage fabrics and offering them to you as a special gift that you can buy for your friends and family or even for yourself.
Many folks really like having a gift that they know no one else can get so it is very special.
I can make custom orders if there are certain colors or themes... that you would like, but I do require a 25% non-refundable deposit before I will start the work.
This is a must in case you change your mind or back out of the sale.
Having this small amount of money up front means that whatever materials I had to spend my time and energy to locate in my stash of vintage fabrics or that I had to use in order to locate and purchase - and/or any of my time that I have already invested in research or looking for the proper materials and/or tweaking my designs to suit your taste are not entirely wasted.
A note about using one of my hand-sewn eye mask pillows...
My hand sewn eye mask pillows make beautiful, unique and one-of-a-kind gifts for just about any occasion but remember that they have all-natural, organic, REAL herbs and/or flowers tucked inside of them to give you that wonderful relaxing scent and so they cannot be washed or the herbs inside will get wet and the whole thing will be ruined.
This is why wearing one of my hand sewn eye mask liners directly underneath the eye mask pillow is such a good idea !
The hand sewn liners are washable and wearing one of these underneath your eye mask pillow will protect the mask from sweat or eye make-up and help to keep it clean.
You do not have to get one of these if you don't want one.
It just makes the whole gift presentation extra special showing that you went that "extra mile" in your efforts to find the perfect gift.
You can just use a dry washcloth or other clean, soft and dry piece of washable fabric.

A little peak at some of my vintage fabric stash - - This is just a small fraction of what I have.
As I've said so many times before, I love to sew - especially by hand and almost always using vintage fabrics !
I need to use thicker fabrics with a tighter weave or a double layer of the thinner ones (as long as they are quality, tightly woven material - like the gorgeous vintage satin fabrics that I found) so that my hand-sewn luscious and luxury relaxation items are sturdy enough to withstand normal use and so that the lavender (or other herbs and flowers...) do not poke out in between the threads.
When I get in a new stack of fabrics from an auction or from an estate sale... I go through it and take out what I KNOW I will use.
Then, I set aside the quilter's favorite type of cotton fabrics to sell at my little Hubbard, Ohio gift shop.
The local quilters LOVE me for bringing in so much of the great, vintage stuff.
After that, then I make a stack of the "maybe" I'll use vintage fabrics which I let my regular customers buy from if they ask for something that I have in there and not in my shop.
