Photography: Treasures!

Updated on April 9, 2012

My mother loved auctions and yard sales. A few of her finds are displayed in my father's house, but most were sent to the barn behind our house. Packed away for years in cardboard boxes, they finally saw the light of day today when I went snooping! I found some vases and kitchen items that will look good in my house. Some I'll use as they were intended, but others are not in the best shape, so I'll just hang those or put a plant in 'em!

Here's my day in a few photos! Enjoy!

I adore the Watkins cookbook! The tin cup I'll probably put a plant in and I'm not sure if the cast iron skillet can be cleaned or not. I'll have to do some research.

I've actually used the push mower a few times. It needs a good cleaning! The other item, I'm not sure what it even is, but I thought I might paint it and make some clay figures to put on it. Anybody know what it is?

A biscuit cutter and a cast-iron cornbread pan. I'm not sure if the cornbread pan can be cleaned. You may be looking at some wall art here!

Pyrex dish, speckled bowls, and two tiny cast-iron skillets. I used to play in the silver tub when I was 4 or 5 years old. It was my swimming pool!

elayne001, those push mowers are tough to use, but they sure do offer a great workout! Thanks for the comment!

This is a great idea - so many memories. I took a bath in a tub like that when I was small and we still have a push mower. Fun hub!

What a neat look at your day in photos. This hub idea has a lot of food for thought. A picture really can be worth a thousand words. :)
