Photoshop Introduction

This is something I've wanted to do for a long time, with so much information on the Internet especially in videos dealing with Photoshop; I wanted to compile a list of some of the best videos on the web that can help you learn Adobe Photoshop easier. There are only a few tools that I believe are a must have when it comes to graphics, one is Adobe Photoshop CS4 and if you're serious about graphics you should have a Wacom tablet. I'll be doing a review on a few of the great graphic tablets that you're able to buy but for now let's deal with one of the industry standards in graphic design Adobe Photoshop.

So first let's go ahead and get a general view of Photoshop, these first two videos are 101 courses. This is a full overview of Photoshop and will also get you up and running fast with the software.

Introducing: The Layout

Now for some of you, the first two videos might be enough to get you up and running or at least getting the idea of how to use Photoshop. But I'm a glutton for details, so I also wanted to make sure that I got videos that explain the Photoshop interface with a bit more detail. The next video is an introduction to the actual layout of Photoshop. You'll need to understand where everything is and this video will get you there, what is also great is that you get to see the menu in a bit more detail.

The Tools

You can't build a house with your bare hands, and you cannot use Photoshop without knowing the tools. The tools palette will become your best friend in creating your graphic work. When you learn what these buttons do, you will have learned to 75% of Photoshop and unleashed 60% of its power.

Install Photoshop Brushes

Okay I've saved the best for last! When you see graphic art that looks grungy or destroyed, there's a good chance that the artist used a Photoshop brush to achieve that. But brushes aren't limited to just destruction, no with the use of brushes, layers, layer styles, layer adjustments you now can understand how a lot of art that you see in magazines, commercials or anything else graphic related, if made in Photoshop, was created. This next video shows you a great place to find Photoshop brushes and shows you how to install them, so go ahead and grab your brushes and make some great art.
