Project 365 - Week 5

Updated on January 30, 2012

Better late then never- yes this is a long time coming- sorry for the delay

Day 29 of 365

Day 29

Today was the letter L and since I had stepped on more then one Lego for the day, it seemed appropriate that this should be the subject. It was getting a little late in the day I decided to shoot them where they were and not set up the extra lights or back drop. The effect of the dining room light on the table made for a rather dark and sinister appearance. Actually quite fitting as Legos act dark and sinister when hiding in the carpet for an unsuspecting foot to step on them.

Day 30

Today I spent some time with my daughter's golf team and it was a rainy miserable day with gusting wind. Since I had my camera with me on the course I was taking some shots of the girls. One shot in particular really had a cool effect, so M for Motion was the photo of the day. Unfortunately for one of the girls, wind decided to gust just as she set her bag down next to the pond to get ready to hit her next ball. So the second photo for today was "M" for Mishap.

September is Complete!!!
September is Complete!!!

One Month Complete

This is not a "Photo of the Day" rather a toot of my own horn. I use the Project 365 iPhone/iPad app to keep my motivation going. It is a cool tool that lets you see your growing portfolio and if you skip a day ... well you have a blank. I do not like blanks, so I am working hard to keep it filled.

Day 31

Today was the letter "N" and since the cat always has his nose into everything I thought this was appropriate. With my daughter holding him in a towel (he has ALL his claws) we were finally able to convince him to hold still for the photo. One thing about cats, they really do not like shutter noise on a camera.

Day 32

"O" is another one of those letters that not many household items begin with. I did not have any oranges in the refrigerator and since it was getting late in the evening, I also did not feel like running to the grocery store either. In my basement I have a wet bar area and of course, it is Pirate themed. For those of you who have read any of my other hubs- you know I have an OBX obsession and the basement follows right along. After some failed attempts of photos taken of open doors (which did not look quite right) I had the bright idea of just taking a photo of my "open sign".

Day 33

Another day on the course for my daughter's golf team and a perfect "P" photo oppurtunity for me. Laying on the green at the golf course will sure get you some odd looks, especially at the country club. So rather than risk getting thrown out, I took this shot blind and luckily came out with an image that I could crop and straighten. "P" for Putt is today's theme.

Day 34

I will tell you I have been dreading the letter "Q". We have a flowering quince bush- of course it is not flowering right now when I need my photo. Since I had that thought stuck in my head though I could not come up with another idea. I jokingly mentioned my photographers block to my boss and he came right back with the word "quilt". Duh!?! I have noticed that sometimes when trying to go for the photo, I can go right passed the obvious. This is a quilt that I have been working on for four years now. (A little at a time) maybe someday I will finish it- but for now it is the subject of the day.

Day 35

"R" is for Rope. Having a nautical theme in a couple of my rooms definitely helped with today's photo. I took a picture of a rock as well- but this one turned out much better.

Some Catching up to do

Shortly after week four's Hub was completed life got crazy busy. I managed to stay on top of the Project 365 and kept taking a photo a day, I just did not have the extra time to Hub about it. For those who have followed along and commented so nicely- I apologize. I intend to try to catch up to current. Today is actually day 151 so it may take me a little bit to do this.

Until we meet again
