Project 365 week 18

Updated on February 3, 2012

2012 begins this week

Week 18 not only marks the end of my fourth month in the project 365 but it also includes the end of 2011. I chose to start my photo project on Sept 1, 2011 for the simple reason that I have failed at every New Years Resolution I have ever tried... except for one- to never make another New Years Resolution again. This one I have kept for the last 12 years :)

Day 121

Day 121

The photo of today is one of my favorite activities next to taking photographs, and that is darts. So this photo is dedicated to all of my dart league friends and tournament buddies. This sport has made my Facebook friends list jump to over 700 people. Since I also post my project on my Wall- it has also given me the accountability of that many people as well. If I were to ever miss a day I am sure that all of my dart playing friends would never let me live it down. So thank you all for the incentive and drive to continue.

Day 122

Ok- it is here :) the dawn of a new year and the last photo of the year 2011. Literally it is the last photo... I snapped this picture right before midnight :) I am heading into this next month with the knowledge that I have already made it over the hump. The holidays are past and I made it through them (even if just barely) I look forward to the things that are happening this year, upcoming vacations, the last remaining snowfalls of winter and the new flowers of spring. This is going to be a great year for my photography I just know it.

December's Calendar

Here is the photo calendar for the Month of December. Four months are now complete and only eight more to go... I am getting there- check out the video below to see all the photos and the extras for this month. At the end of each I am making these as a kind of reward to myself. I love to see the calendar fill and go back to review the previous months images in a slide show.

Day 123

I am working on a print art project to have a collage made with floating metal prints and it is going to be a nautical theme (of course) for my bedroom. I took this one to add to the collection I am gathering for the collage and at the end of my project 365 I am going to take the photos and pick the 7 best ones to get it made.

Day 124

Day 124

We had a green Christmas but the New Year is starting out pretty white. Big fluffy flakes are beautiful as they are falling from the sky- it is just a shame that they do not fall only in our yards. My kids spent the day sled riding because they have to go back to school tomorrow.

Day 125

Well, the snow from yesterday never stopped and so school was cancelled with the road completely impassable until this afternoon. Taking my oldest daughter with me, we decided to brave the snow covered roads to see what type of photo we could find. The creek down the road from us offered a nice contrast so that was the pic of the day. That and the roads were bad enough that I decided I did not want to venture much farther.

Day 126
Day 126

Day 126

The township has cleared the roads enough that the kids headed back to school so I decided to try again and see what kind of interest snow picture I could find. It was not really that we got an tremendous amount of snow in the last few days. We have had snowfalls that were much more impressive. It was the fact that the wind blew so hard that the snow that we did get drifted into huge snow drifts. This one is right beside the road going to my house and it borders the wide open space of the golf course. Perfect spot for the wind to make impressive piles of snow.

Day 127

Driving around looking for the photo of the day, I just happened to see this majestic house that sits back off the road. With the snow and the decorations still up... I could not resist taking a photo.

Week 18 is complete

This week is done and the new year is in full swing... I am looking forward to the next week wondering what is in store for me. If you are just joining my hub- please be sure to check out some of the past ones in my series. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have enjoyed making them

Until next time
