Project 365 week 8

Day 51

Day 51

Another hectic day had me scrambling at the last minute to get my photo for the day. Eight proved to be a hard subject. Thank goodness my son is into pirates and had a toy octopus from one of his playsets. Set on the basement carpeting I will say that it does have a sand like quality. I have had many people ask which aquarium we went to after a quick look at this photo. I love the look on their face when I tell them where this was taken.

Day 52

I have decided that although the alphabet theme was kind of fun, the number theme is not. So after eight I have decided to go with whatever I happen to see that strikes my interest. Playing frisbee with the dog in the back yard gave me the chance to practice some action shots. I had taken probably 4 or 5 photos when the dog decided she had enough and picked up her toy heading for the house.

Day 53

Remember how I could not find the neighbor's cows when I had the theme "H" and was trying to take a photo of a herd? Well, today they were in the front pasture and posing as I drove down the road. One quick U turn and a roll down of the window and the photo of the day was complete. After 53 days I have turned a hobby into a habit. I rarely leave home now without my camera. It is as second nature now just as I grab my cell phone. I have even transfered most of the purse type items into my camera bag- so now I really do not have much choice.

Day 54

As the weather starts to change and we head deep into fall, the evening sunset colors are starting to become more and more vibrant. Taken off the back deck of our house into the sunset, I was able to grab the remaining light of the day behind our pine trees.

Day 55

I had some extra time on my hands today and was able to go for a walk. As I walked down our road I saw that the corn was just about to the point that they would start harvesting. I decided to try a technique I had read about online called shallow depth of field. I was pleased with the result so I used this as my photo of the day and posted my picture early. Of course later that day I was driving home at dusk and catured another photo. I had already posted my picture, but since I really liked this one- I posted an extra. I have decided to wait now until the end of the day, if not until the next morning before I actually decide on the official photo. That way I can chose from all the photos at once.

If you carry a camera bag that is comfortable and stylish- you are more likely to carry a camera bag

Day 56

Those pumpkins that gave their image for the number "3" day have once again made an appearance. This time on a cookie sheet ready to go into the oven. The carved pumpkins made their way to the porch with the candles inside and many photos were taken of course of the progress along the way. In the end though I decided to try out some macro filters I had purchased that day and that is the photo I chose to use.

Day 57
Day 57

Day 57

Today was my birthday and since the kids were in school, I decided to take the day and go up to Lake Erie and take photos. I took over 100 photos today, some good - some not so good. But my favorite was this one of the US Brig Niagara. A boat that was used by Commodore Perry in the Battle of Lake Erie in the 1800's. I could only get a shot of the mast over the fence since the boat is currently docked for the winter- But I think it turned out kind of cool.

Week eight is complete!

Next week I will have completed the month of October. Two months down and ten more to go. It is neat to see my calendar fill up on my iPad as I tick off each day in the month.

Until next time
