Stampin Up rubberstamps. The designer background paper had chocolate chip color, so I stamped the girl in that same color in the bottom corner.

Scrapbooked Albums

Scrapbooking a holiday album is a trophy keepsake. It is a immensely rewarding experience to create something that will become a nostalgic piece of the family tree.

The small yellow Easter album (in the picture) is from 2005. The basic ideas are just paper cutouts, stickers and writing in some messages. I added stickers with Easter quotes too.

If you have video and images saved to a disc, slip it into an envelope and place it on a page in the album. This makes it so much easier, organized and perfect to locate it and make copies when needed. How about when grandma gazes through the book and decides she must of a few pictures? Now you can pull the disc right out and take it up to a photo processing center or print it out at home on a photo printer.

Paper layering adds a visual impact. Use solid colors with patterned papers. Textured or embossed papers add even more dimension behind a picture. They can have a lattice, polka dot, floral or woodgrain effect; the texture that suits the person in the image and the environment around them.

Stickers with butterflies, flowers and Easter quotes are the collection to incorporate into the pages. Stickers are the easiest embellishment to use on scrapbook pages. They are plentiful in holiday themes.

Quotes can be the preprinted adhesive style, rub ons or write your own personal quotes and messages on a page.

Easter theme and nursery themes both work well, so look for both. Nursery themes have cute little animals and bunny designs.

Designer Paper, dollies, and nature styles will represent your pictures in a compatible format. Use the designer scrapbook papers as background and in layers, Cut out a single image in the designer paper and place it in the layout.

Complete each page individually. Add a few of the same designer papers on different pages in the album. Like an interior designer, the flow of the color, pattern and design will appear throughout; just like in a home.

Enjoy the time creating your perfect scrapbooked album. Make it a gift for someone else, share your artistic creation! Happy Easter!!!

Easter Rubberstamp Sets and Markers

Easter Rubberstamp Sets and Markers

Choose the charming rubberstamp sets that suit the age of your children. Consider the nursery or baby stamps and nature stamps. I love butterflies, so I always include those in an Easter theme. Tulips and other spring flowers spring to life between images and muted colored papers.

Scrapbooking markers allow you to fill in images, write messages and layer a stamped image with multiple colors or shading.

Pick fresh, crisp colors or pastels to emphasis the colors in your Easter pictures.

Rubberstamps is available as individual stamps or in sets. Try to choose a combination of Easter, nursery and spring. Especially flowers like blossoms, tulips, crocus and hyathicins.

Sun Print Paper Kits

Spring Papers and Sunprints

Choose the scrapbooking papers that compliment the colors in the pictures. Buy individual sheets or packs of designer papers to create the best layouts. Subtle earth tones are excellent backgrounds too; they allow for the colors on top to visually stand out more.

Sun print papers are another fun paper to add into any album. Capture some spring flowers right on the paper. Let the page "pop" with the intense blue hue.

(I will add the link to the how to sun print and how to use your images in a week, along with a how to video)

    6. Sun print images

    7. Embellishments like brads, buttons, ribbon, twine and rhinestones or pearls.

    9. Creativity

    10. Color wheels help with the right combination of colors on one page.

Other Scrapbook Decorations

Extra things to add to the scrapbooking pages. Spring is a representation of nature, so incorporate pressed spring flowers, feathers, and plant leaves.

Ribbon and twine sweeten the image. Either use it over the connection between two papers, ripple it or add bows. Twine adds a natural texture and works perfect as butterfly antennas.

Brads add color, sparkle or the look of a stamped image, while holding things in place. Place them in the center of flowers, ribbons, corners of pictures and in a spaced line across the paper. Use them to hold tags in place under pictures.

Layering techniques using various mediums adds tremendous depth and interest. It can make one image extra special and representative of whom the person is in the picture. My review on this more advanced style scrapbooking is here advanced style scrapbooking is here.

Water Colored Stamped Images

Rubberstamp images onto white paper. Fill in the images with varying shades of paint. Metallic watercolors are pictured above. I wrote the colors I used in each area so I could reproduce them. Use plain watercolors or metallics rubberstamping inks work just the same.

Layout a collection of stamped images either in one area, in a row or just a single one on the page. Add multiple layers of color to make the image as realistic as possible.
