My Skyline - Day 2 - Photo A Day May
Skyline From My Balcony
Skyline At Sunset
This picture is the view looking west from my balcony. I happened to take the picture at just the right time to get the sun in it. Today's subject for Photo A Day May was skyline - and this is my skyline.
When I see this scene, I am proud. Just over the edge of that skyline is our city's Air Force base. That is a scene of pride and strength and heroism. I know when I look out that direction, I am looking at hundreds, if not thousands of men and women that fight to protect this wonderful country of ours. Strong men and women that have homes and families in our community.
The sun in this scene reminds me that our God is ever present in our lives. You just have to look out and see the things God has created. The trees, the flowers, the wonderful people - everything in nature that you can see across the skyline...God has created it.
As I stand on the balcony of my home to take that picture, I am reminded of how important and special my family is to me. If I could see across the roof, I would see the home of my grandson. He makes me smile and love being alive. My grandchildren are what makes life worth living. I can't wait until the next time I see them - even if I just saw them a minute ago. They are awesome little people - smart, funny, creative - I know that everyone says that of their children and grandchildren, but in this case it is true! As I sing in a song I made up for them - they "are my little boy, my wonderful pride and joy!"
I hope you enjoy this reflection...
