Little Creek Cypress
Travels
For the last ten years, my wife and I have traveled frequently between the Gulf Coast, North New Jersey, Manhattan, Western North Carolina, Florida and Kentucky. We also made a side trip out to Nebraska by way of Denver. We drove back to Louisiana through Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. Most of our trips have been family related.
The image to the right as well as the one below are both from my recent "Louisiana Swamp Shoot".
Louisiana Swamp Shoot
Leaving the Lone Cherry Baptist Church and heading towards the Goldmine Plantation, travelers cross Little Creek. Using a wide angle lens, it was possible to get an old cypress tree in the frame along with its entire reflection in the water.
On the opposite side of the bridge, the north side, I found a "family" of cypress knees. Several visits to this bridge over the course of my stay in Louisiana yielded some interesting shots. Many can be found at the link to my gallery below.

Cades Cove
Cades Cove
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is one of -- if not the most -- visited parks in the country. A favorite destination is a "valley" up in the mountains, also known as a "cove". This one is a rather large area that once was the home to several homesteads, a few churches, and a mill. At its zenith, Cades Cove was home to over 200 residents. It was for many years a favorite hunting ground of the Cherokee Indians. The self-guided tour takes visitors around an eleven mile course in the cove with ample opportunities for watching and of course photographing wildlife. It is estimated that over 1500 black bears call Cade's Cove home.

Cape Cod Easter Shoot
A dear friend lives in Dennis, MA and we visited for Easter in 2009. In addition to a trip around the coast for light house shots, we visited both Provincetown and Corporation Beach. Enjoy the slideshow via the link below.
