Zeeland: A Photo Collection
The Netherlands of Yesterday Is Still There Today
A little gem by the sea
Zeeland is a part of the Netherlands which most visitors will never see. Tucked away in the southwest corner of the country, is contains a great mixture of countryside, seaside, picturesque towns and great cuisine…and none of the hustle and bustle of the country’s main cities. About 2 hours south of Amsterdam and barely an hour north of Brussels, it’s reachable but car, train and other means. Largely below sea levels and consisting of a lot of land which the Dutch have “reclaimed” from the North Sea of the centuries, its flat character makes it ideal for cycling or walking. No matter how you explore it, though, you’re unlikely to be disappointed!
