PULL TAB (POP TOP) CROCHET

WEARABLE ART
Crochet with pop tops is a very popular craft in my home country, Brazil. I think that most pull tab crochet products you may see online are "pasteurized" and mass-produced. They strive for perfection, while I do it for the pure enjoyment of creating something with my own two hands (wish I had a third one...). I think of it as wearable art and minor imperfections are part of the charm.

Upcycled crochet items using aluminum pull tabs from soda and beer cans
See what it's all about
All the items I make are crocheted or knit using recycled, post-consumer, clean, aluminum soda can pull tabs, or pop tops. Check what pull tab crochet is all about.
I have started using "plarn", a "yarn" made from recycled plastic bags cut into strips. The results are very interesting

Amazing what a little imagination can come up with. Well done.
OK - I love to "up-cycle" and I really like crafts, but this is just about as unique as they come. I'm adding this to my Crazy Crafts Online lens, because it is wonderful and right up there with the rest of the items I've selected, in my opinion of course. Great lens. Blessings.
Beautiful. When are you going to start selling the items?

Very interesting lens.
I have done crocheting with string, ribbon, plastic wrappers/bags cut into strips, and strips of fabric. I have incorporated metal & plastic washers, pieces of leather & plastic, beads and buttons, but this idea is new to me. The results look great.
This is fantastic! I've been crocheting for years and have never heard of this type of thing. I reallllllllly want to try to make a purse or something out of the pop tops now. I'm sharing this one on facebook! I'm also going to favorite it.
Awesome lens, love the great ideas,Fantastic selection
I chrochet with plarn -plastic yarn- but I haven't thought to add tab accents! Very cool ideas. I really like the fish scale tab purse, I would like to try to make one of my own :)
another use for tabs--I used them to make chairs! Check them out on my lens. Afterthey were finished they were donated to a local charity that collects tabs for money.
