Sewing Gifts - Great Choices
Great Choices in Sewing Gifts
If you're planning to purchase sewing gifts, you're on the right page! :) Sewing is a passion that has remained consistent for me in my nearly 50 years of threading needles. I was REALLY young when I started, okay? lol
On this page you'll find sewing gifts for those with all levels of sewing experience. I've put a lot of thought into every item featured. Many of these items I already own and use myself. I'll be adding to this page as I discover new sewing gifts I feel are great choices.
Starting with sewing thread......you can never have too many. Black and white thread is always a great choice, but you can fill a basket or container with spools of all colors and gift it to someone or keep it for yourself. Why not? ;)

Great Choices for Experienced Sewers
Even though I've been sewing a long time, I forget sometimes to take a look and see what may be new on the market to make my sewing a little easier. These bobbin mates (pictured above) I recently found online keep my bobbin and coordinating spool of thread stored together, so I don't have to dig around to find the bobbin I need.
Also in the picture is my scissors sharpener by Friskars. I use them frequently to keep my sewing shears sharp.
Sewing Gifts for Advanced Sewists
Clover Wonder Clips
Many of my sewing projects benefit from the use of these awesome clips from Clover! In fact, sometimes I will start and complete a sewing task without ever using a straight pin. These clips come in jumbo green as well as regular sized red clips. You gotta try them!

Great Choices in Sewing Gifts Begin With..... - A Sewing Machine for All Skill Levels
I LOVE this sewing machine! This Janome Magnolia 7318 Sewing Machine is by far the sewing machine that has given me the most bang for my buck. Many different materials (including window screen) and projects like a set of lined flocked damask curtain panels with formal tie backs and a coordinating valance, blind weighted hems and mitered corners have been sewn by me on this machine.
It's a beauty and I am recommending it to anyone who has ever sewn one stitch on a sewing machine or one million. THIS is the sewing machine to get!

Where I Sew
This is where I sew in our tiny cottage. It's not ideal, but it works for me. However, there ARE lots of sewing tables and accessories. I've got my eye on one sewing table in particular...... :)

For All Sewists...
Anyone who sews needs these basics:
- a sewing machine
- sewing scissors (a good pair of pinking shears is awesome too!)
- pincushion
- straight pins (optional: Wonder Clover Clips mentioned above)
- quality measuring tape
- thread, of course
- a good thimble for hand sewing
- but most of all, it's a fact anyone who sews will need a seam ripper. :)
