Zentangle Inspirations in Fabric

Updated on December 22, 2014

Fabric Designs Inspire Zentangles

If you like doodling and making Zentangles, but you are looking for new ideas, check out these Zentangle inspirations in fabric.

Zentangle is basically doodling using repetitive patterns. Fabrics used for clothing, home decor like curtains, towels, and pillows, and totes and other objects often have great repetitive patterns like intricate borders and flowing images repeated in the material. These fabric designs can inspire your next Zentangle.

This retro washcloth pictured here is from the 1970s. It has great design suitable for Zentangle inspiration.

Possibly. I would more likely take patterns in nature...wavy water, blades of grass, pretty leaves, flower petals...that sort of thing.

Of course! It's fun to take a design and give it your own tweak....I guess I'd be a Zentangle Wrangler, huh? ha :)

@Virginia Allain: That's the most fun, to just go with it.

I just keep adding embellishments to the design I started until I think it is done. I don't really try to draw something that I see though.
